Glitchy noise and stuttered playback and unable to update anything ASUS

Hey Guys,

Got a sweet new machine a few days ago, and although great I have a few weird niggles I was hoping someone could help with.

Firstly no matter which jack I plug my headphones into there is a periodic ringing glitch noise

On video playback - some times it get jittery, or skips a few frames

Though the My Asus app, it wont let me update anything. I download the update, then when I click on it, it crashes out. This is probs the bigger issue - haha

Thanks in advance

What make and model headphones are they? And what app are you using for playback?

You don't use any Asus bloatware at all if you can avoid it, certainly not for driver updates.

Can you post a screenshot of your optional updates page? That's where you update system drivers, until that's up to date, the system isn't configured.

But you'd want to clean uninstall any Asus bloatware like Armoury Crate or AI Suite, they're major sources of instability which is why Asus had to make official uninstaller tools

Morning All,

@ubuysa

What on Earth are you using all that RAM for?!!
For After Effects Rendering, C4D and Prem

Audio through the media player, youtube and then also Premiere pro and After effects. Headphones are Audio Teknika - used them for years and they work a charm with my other devices

I'll get that screen grab shorty - but I using both those apps you mentioned

yes of course @SpyderTracks - I've also tried both ports with the head phone jack

As it happens I've noticed as I've used the machine more it takes a long while to boot, and copying any files from media connected to the front ports on the machine fails or randomly disconnects sporadically .

Can you post a screenshot of your device manager too?

And then could you open control panel, then open programs and features, change the view to list view and post a screenshot?

Ahh, that is now uninstalled
Cool

Lastly, can you check your BIOS version? If you click on start and search for system information it's in there under BIOS Version / Date

And also, can you manually install the latest chipset driver from here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...20240806B.zip?model=ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

And the latest sound drivers here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...11_64-bit.zip?model=ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

From there we can start some troubleshooting.

OK so just tried the first chipset driver install and got this message - can't quite figure where I I should be installing -
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 2204, 02/08/2024

EDIT - sorry I cancelled that and then it worked

If you’re sure those are installed, then install LatencyMon here: https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon

Run a scan and post the results.

Can I confirm, if you’re doing audio work, how come you’re not using an interface rather than the onboard audio?
