GeForce 680 GTX

Hey all,

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3470290

so as a couple may have noticed from the benchmark thread, I have recently ran 3dmark11, and found something a bit odd, wondering if anyone with more knowledge than myself might be able to provide some input/insight for me :)

my graphics score is: 9808

where every other single GTX 680 I've looked at has had 11000ish?

By contrast, my Physics is 11521

where most others are around 8000 - 9000?

Below is 3dmarks info on my card.
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
Vendor: Palit Microsystems Ltd.
Memory: 4096 MB
Core clock: 705 MHz
Memory clock: 3004 MHz
Driver name:
Driver version: 8.17.13.110
Driver status: FM Approved

only major differences I've noted with the graphics card are that mine has higher ram than the others but in general, a lower memory clock?

(note - this isn't a complaint, this is more a request for suggestions on what I might be missing, the machine didnt have windows on it, so I needed to do the full system install myself :) )

Thanks in advance!

i beleive that the 4gb version comes less over clocked than the 2gb verson from palit, is one reason i was prepared to wait ( and still waiting ) :(. someone may say im wrong , but im sure i read this during some research. Also i beleive the 4gb version was made as it was better for multiple display screens. just what i was reading so maybe somene can confirm this :)

Yes, i beleive there may be an issue somewhere with your drivers etc. Is your system overlcocked in any way. Also this card should have 6MhZ memory speed and yours is showing 3.

I have noticed that you didnt order an operating system from us. What nvidia drvier did you install.

Also you did have an overclock on the machine. I would save the overclock profile and then set defaults in your bios and see what readings you get then.

I got the same readings but I though it would be just 3DMark11 not recognizing the correct memory/core.

Maestro, I actually ran an update on my bios after doing 3dsmark11 the first time but before the latest few times, I however failed to realise i needed to save my overclock settings while I was at it, so need someone to tell me what the settings for overclock need to be as well...

drivers I've ran 3dmark11 with: latest drivers direct from nvidia, beta drivers direct from nvidia and the palit drivers that were on my cd. They all had exactly the same information for my graphics card, and my score was relatively consistent between them?

(this thread was the one about me losing my overclock settings)

Asus Sabertooth z77

quick note about when i tried each of the above graphics drivers - i did clean install each time, as i wanted to know if any of them would have a good affect on my graphics score.

I can only think that the programs that you are using to detect the card, are wrong, and dont have the ability to detect this latest card correctly, or the drivers for this card are not yet up to speed.

Just use the AI Suite to re overclock your comp.

Download from here AISuite_II_V10229_SABERTOOTH-Z77_XPWin7.zip
and install.

Once installed restart your computer, and tap the Del key on startup to enter your BIOS. Top right click advanced, and advanced again.

Once in Advanced mode, Click AI Tweaker tab.

Set Turbo Ratio to By All Cores

Click back, and select the 3rd Tab, Advanced.
Click System agent configuration
Graphics Configuration
Make sure primary gpu is Pcie
Press F10 to save and restart computer.

Load up Ai Suite and click Tool ~ TurboV Evo
Auto Tuning
Chose the OC mode you would like and click start.

The computer will restart, sometimes twice. This Overclock will fluctuate so that it is not present all the time. So in other words when the power is needed it will higher itself and when idle it will lower so your clock settings wont always be high.

Hope this helps.

trouble i was having, was i wasn't getting it to OC to the 4.6ghz it should - i eventually found that using X.M.P with profile 1 and setting the cores to 46 gave me the desired setting, but I'm not 100% thats what i was supposed to do?

I'll need to check the gpu settings in the bios when i get home, definitely seems to be something off with it.

XMP will be enabled Correctly if you use ai suite auto tuner like explained above. But you can also enable it in BIOS and set your RAM MHZ to the correct MHZ for the ram type you have.

not sure if anything stands out regarding the CPU-Z stats or not...

Buzz, I actually had a look for auto tuner in sabertooths ai suite before

There isn't an auto tuning bit in my ai suite that I could find, I'll check again tonight, but pretty sure that was the case.

Ai suite has it but you need to install all the components. When I first installed it, it only installed the updater and the fan control. Just install again and make sure all parts install. Especially TurboV Evo
