Hi,
I'm having issues with playing LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues on Steam on my PCSPECIALIST notebook as it complains "Fatal Error! Failed to create d3d device. Application will now exit. Error = 0x8876086c". I looked this up online and it seems to have to do with refresh rates (specifically it seems older games like this require 60hz), which would make sense as my notebook has a 144hz screen. However, plugging my laptop into a 60hz external monitor is not at all a viable solution in my situation, and Display > Advanced Display does not allow me to change to anything other than 144hz. I've also tried setting steam launch options such as -Hz=60 or -freq 59 but it doesn't change anything. I've also tried NVIDIA Control Panel and selecting NVIDIA processor as preferred then setting a max framerate of 59hz but this didn't work either. Are there any safe ways I can lower my refresh rates to 60hz or otherwise run the game effectively? In case the information is useful I can run LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham perfectly, that game's settings only allow me 143Hz. Is this problem experienced by anyone else?
Thanks in advance.
