First time gaming PC purchase

Not sure if anyone will know the answer as of yet but does any one have advice for the new cpu in terms of what motherboard and cooler I should be going for?

I don’t think the new CPU comes with a cooler as standard so I’m worried I don’t get a cooler that will do a good enough job and have my CPU meltage.

With regards to the motherboard Not looking to wait till October so would my next best option be the X670?

Thanks in advance

Given the increase in TDP from
Zen3 (7600x has same TDP AS 5900x), you’d want a mid to high end air cooler and prob a 280 AIO min. But we’ll need to see first benchmarks to be sure.

As for motherboards, if you can’t wait until Oct to order, your only choice will be X670 or X670E. They’re the only ones available on launch.

Thank you for this info it really is appreciated,
I’m looking at ordering the date of release for the new CPU so I don’t think I will be able to see the benchmarks before ordering will I?

I’d say there’s an embargo on benchmarks until day of release, or at best a couple of days later. So anyone buying on launch day has to be prepared to be Guinea pigs and deal with day zero issues/bugs. If this sounds too stressful, hold off a bit to read review and see if any indications of serious issues.

TDP is bunk. Really we need those benchmarks and reviews to know anything at all!

It’s my first time every buying a PC/ buying on day zero, from your experience what kind of issues could you potentially get?
Bios bugs would be very likely. CPUs running ridiculously hot would be another potential issue. And 12th gen Intel had warping issues. But we won’t know any of this until first units ship and have been through their paces by end users. Like I said, early adopters take the pain, the rest of us learn from their issues.

I’m guessing all issues would be covered under warranty and if the cpu caused any internal damage etc to the pc then that would be all covered too?

Like any component it will come with warranty so if it fails you can claim a replacement. If it’s causing issues like setting your rig on fire, I’d expect they’d issue a recall.

Hi guys, here is my build can someone suggest any changes for the better please

Is the cooler enough?

Games I would normally play are -

assassins creed

Warzone

Tomb raider

Plus with me being a new pc gamer would likely be trying out new games like Elden ring and other mmo.

Not looking to go much over this budget

Monitor - MSI Optix G273QF Esports Gaming IPS Monitor - 27 inch, 16:9 WQHD (2560x1440), Rapid IPS, 165Hz, 1ms GTG Response Time, G-SYNC Compatible, Less Blue Light, VESA Mounting, Display Port, HDMI, Black

You seem to have gone from a £1500 budget to a £3000 budget...for a 1440p build?

Have your requirements changed to include running global thermonuclear war simulations or Tic-Tac-Toe ;)

You know how it is when you get draw into the buying new gadgets/toys.. I have placed an order on the above spec, of course I could amend if anyone recommended any changes that should be made.

Thank you

Can you post the spec here, I'm not sure that link is working for me. Did you select the Frostflow 240 AIO for example? I'd be looking for a) Corsair (more reliable) and b) 280 and ideally 360 for the 7950X....

Also which Corsair would you recommend? None of the have the numbers 240-280 or 360 showing and I’m useless with this kind of stuff, thank you

That’s the spec, thank yoy

I think that build is not optimised. You've gone for the most expensive motherboard, but only a single 1TB slow SSD, underpowered PSU, weak cooler. I'd be looking to change order asap or cancel it and get some feedback here on a better spec'd build

It was the only motherboard that was available within 3 days to be honest that was the main reason behind it, could you advise the best spec to go for please?
