Failing AIO, recommendations for new cooler?

They normally come with different backplates for AMD and Intel, make sure you're using the right one
That's what I figured and it said when I ordered it, but the only one that seems to have been sent is the Intel bracket. On all of the videos I've watched of installation I haven't seen a backplate even being used some I'm pretty confused

Some coolers use the AMD stock backplate instead. If the one currently fitted to the PC isn't compatible, it might be in the PCS parts box...
That's what's confused me, my backplate seems to fit perfectly with the new mounting brackets sent and in all installations guides I've watched no backplate was shown to have been installed

If it fits perfectly then give it a go, perhaps it is the same

I'm a little nervous recommending it as I'm not 100% certain, but my understanding is that the majority of coolers use the stock AM4 backplate. Certainly my cooler did, although an Intel backplate was included. And the online instructions don't mention an AMD backplate.

From all of that I would conclude that it's fine. But as I say, I don't know that.

I'll try to mount the cooler on and see if there is any give at all and I'll get back to you all 🤣

I have a 360 liquid freezer and it uses the stock AMD backplate, hence none supplied with the cooler. Hopefully the original plate is in your welcome box if it was replaced with the cooler master one when built

Actually looking at instructions for the CoolerMaster, it also uses original AMD backplate. So if the Arctic isn’t fitting, you’re doing something wrong.

It does seem to be fitting perfectly with the backplate which was installed on my Coolermaster, it's tight and doesn't seem to have any sort of wiggle

Yes, most AMD coolers retain the AMD stock backplate. But if an AM4 cooler requires the backplate to be replaced then it’s not AM5 compatible as the backplate is fixed for AM5. Noctua have a couple of coolers like this, but everything else is fine.
