Extremely Weak Wifi on new PC

Hey guys, I just got my custom built PC from PCS and I'm super happy with literally everything except the wifi. When downloading a game from Steam, I was regularly getting less than 100kbps. Even with Steam closed, I struggle to open a Chrome page. I have fibre broadband from TalkTalk and every other device in the house works fine.

I did attach the attenae and I've tried uninstalling the wireless network card and rebooting, to no avail. Getting really nervous that I won't be able to use my lovely new PC due to the bad wifi so all help is extremely gratefully received.

There was a driver issue with the wifi card in your build,
When you got the computer, did you go through setting it up with windows updates and GPU drivers?
The one windows update was using had problems, I dont know if its since been changed.
That wifi card has the wrong drivers applied by windows update, so you need to manually update it from here:

Yeah, when I turned it on for the first time I just went into Windows update and downloaded everything there, I assume that was where I'd be getting my drivers? I did update my GPU drivers too with no issue. I installed the driver you posted but I'm still getting really poor signal, could it be an issue with the antennae?

It's definitely worth taking them off and screwing them back on to make sure it's working properly

So, when I installed the drivers listed, I went into the Wireless card's properties in device manager and it seemed to still be the windows drivers (same date and it said the drivers originated from Windows). Is this right? If not, how do I get the drivers to install correctly?

I checked the antennae and they're definitely screwed in properly.
