Do you think they'll approve my RMA request?

Try not to be too hard on yourself, you've done well to make the videos and put your case across. I know that's not going to help how you feel, I can relate although in a different way, when I get panicked I talk at 100 miles an hour and people can't understand me.

When I saw the pins in the cable, and from the review you posted from Jarrod's Tech on the new cooler version for this years model, I did wonder if they'd sent the cable for the new chassis rather than your one.

PCS are very good, and very understanding, they'll see you right and you're fully covered for software support as you bought the system with windows, so if you do have any instability they can do a remote session to investigate.
Yes I get that too! I learned to speak as slowly and calmly as possible to be more coherent but that won't stop the stuttering if I'm suddenly getting a call and my mind is all blank and I just can't get the words out >_< But that does reassure me, thank you. Everyone was really nice about it. PCS is great, I've had three laptops from them so far and I think in a few years will trouble them for my first actual PC. I'm really glad this was all sorted out so far, I'm hopeful the proper cable will sort out the BSOD issue with overheating. For now I have to go harass the dog and hug her to calm myself down after that. She's looking too comfortable for someone whose fur got inside the most expensive thing I own!

Thank you! And thanks so much for telling me about Liquid Cooling! I just got the proper hose and it's perfectly secure, I could actually move my laptop backwards and forwards a little if I need to adjust it, and the process of setting it up and the sounds it made was SO COOL!!! I just ran some vet trials on ESO and the GPU temp was around 40c, and I'd turned up all the party member skill animations to max quality which I normally never would 😆 I did the same without the cooling and temps were at 80c, up to 90c at times. I'm so excited, this is a game changer 😁

That’s perfect, great news!

Fortunately, my dog does not lose too much fur.
He's more likely to devour my laptop, and I can't harass him without being severely injured. :ROFLMAO:

What a cutie!!! I love those brown and black ones! and I'm so jealous, I'm always vacuuming, using lint rollers, air purifier, stopped wearing dark clothes and still covered in fur XD I don't know how this tiny dog isn't bald yet, I find huge hairballs in the washing machine every other day...

Hiya so a lot of things happened since I made this thread, the laptop is on it's third RMA now after two where they just "deployed" windows 11 for me and nothing else, I finally called them up about it and this time they replaced a bunch of things, windows drive, fan, RAM, network adapter. But one of the components they gave me was worse than what I'd bought? I got this email "
we have replaced the component [4TB CORSAIR MP600 PRO NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6850 MB/W)] with an alternative product [4TB CORSAIR MP600 PRO NH NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6500 MB/W)].

All replacement products perform equally or better to the original, however if you are not happy with the replacement product or wish to discuss this further, please contact us"

I called them up and they were confused and put my RMA's delivery on hold. Could yous please advise me what replacement component would be equally or better to my original one? I've heard Samsung has a lot of issues, is there anything else I should be wary of? This has been incredibly stressful, I barely got to use my laptop at all in the time since I posted this thread

There's still question marks on Samsung's long-term durability...they had other issues but firmware updates have improved them. I still wouldn't get one though.

As to your question, outside of Samsungs, you aren't going to get equal or better speeds from PCS's offerings. Near as I can tell, the drive they listed to replace it is basically the same drive, albeit with a tiny write speed deficit (not enough for you to even notice in real-world applications...couldn't tell you why the speed is slightly lower though)...the NH in the name just means "No Heatsink". If it was me, I'd be fine with it but, obviously, the question is whether you are happy with it or not

I am very unhappy but if they have absolutely nothing else and the Samsung is the only option...if they hadn't mucked me about since October, which took a huge chunk out of my Gold Warranty, I might have risked it but...I kinda just want to play with my friends who all ranked up without me so I guess I'll email them and tell them to just send the thing back :x

Lols, that's BECAUSE it's thermal throttling, it's having to nerf performance to keep the temps within safe limits. If it was running properly, the cpu would be around 90c and the GPU around 84c

Not something we can answer, none of us work for PCS, you'd have to ask them. But if it's been used without a cooler, that's against the recommendations of PCS, so may fall out of warranty.
Are you saying that my new laptop I have on order MUST have the water cooler for my warranty to be valid? If that is the case why is it an option and not a fixed must have?

I suppose @SpyderTracks is referring to section 7.4 of the ToS.

''This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party (e.g. not using a surge protector), use otherwise than as recommended by us or the manufacturer (e.g. in an unventilated / hot or dusty environment), failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions, or any alteration or repair carried out without the manufacturer's approval.''

Thanks for the reply. That doesn't really state using it without a water cooler though, I mean is a water cooler a manufacturers recommendation?
I keep seeing people saying it will throttle without the water cooler, I'm fine with losing a bit of performance but will it damage anything running it while it is throttling?

If you go to the summary / conclusion at the end of this video, he goes into this

It's a weird setup where it's using both the AIO and air cooling, but you don't NEED the AIO, it will just further improve performance for sustained loads, but it will work fine under air cooling alone, but it will also be a lot louder under air

On battery though you will get SIGNIFICANTLY weak performance

I think it's a lot nicer with water cooling, because I don't think there's thermal paste in it? My defiance had the option but this doesn't because it's made for water cooling. Due to my circumstances I still haven't really gotten proper use out of this since October but the little I did there was a 20-50fps increase and up to 18c temp decrease. I'd suggest anything to keep temps down will prevent damage
