Talked to the guys at tech support, they told me its not the graphics card fault
(no idea how not, when other say it is :/). They told me i should uninstall the os and do a completle new install. But also told me to run uniengine for a really long time, and if it doesnt crash it means its the gpu driver problem. Wish me luck

Edit:Ran uniengine for like 20 minutes and max temp was like 75,i dont know how this can be compared as when i play games it reaches 82 and crashes.

Unigine is a benchmark which uses the unigine game engine, it is quite hardcore and should push the card hard. Who did you speak to? Are you going to give the OS reinstall a shot?

I never got told a name :D. I got told in games, games uses drivers and that is what is cauing crashes. But benchmarks like uniengine etc do not use drivers and they use the base spec(if you get what i mean). So this means that its the drivers causing the problem and there is no problem with the gpu. He told me to run uniengine for an extended period of time, which i did for like 1 hour and it ran fine. He told me if uniengine is fine to do a complete os re-install as it would wipe all my settings and should fix drivers. I am going to look if any of the memory modules are faulty and if they arent am going to re-install my os,which is a shame as i lose all my data..and i have nothing to back it up. In the other crashing thread i read about meastero saying it could be os,ram or psu. If it isnt either of these then it must be psu...as i had a suspicion for my psu. But also i woudnt know how to check if it was fixed as i woudnt have any "games" to test it on as i would only have becnhamrks to test it on. So its a bit of a awkward situation atm :D

Edit:Memory modules are fine, although found a flaw in my plan of re-installing os...i still havent installed a dvd drive :D...i am really busy this weekend so i have to put it off untill next week. Also after i changed the memory module it says now the "dc mode: Unganged". Should i have unganged?

Thanks

Ok, whoever you spoke to is wrong, Unigine Heaven is a tech demo for a game engine:

Unigine Engine is a proprietary cross-platform middleware, developed by Unigine Corp. It is used as either a game engine or as an engine for VR systems. The middleware is aimed to the wide market, so there are various licenses of Unigine, including special ones for independent developers. Unigine currently has support for OpenGL 4.0 and DirectX 11.[1] The name "Unigine" means "universal engine" or "unique engine". Unigine Engine tech demos are included as part of the Phoronix Test Suite for benchmarking purposes on Linux systems.[2]

The roots of Unigine are in the Frustum open source project[3], which was initiated in 2002 by Alexander "Frustum" Zaprjagaev, who is currently a co-founder (along with Denis Shergin, CEO) and CTO of Unigine Corp, and is the Lead Developer of the Unigine engine.

It supports hardware tessellation and Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), DirectCompute, and Shader Model 5.0, as well as other features

These are games listed as using the engine:

If i was trouble shooting this, the GPU would be my next suspect.

So after a driver re-install i would swap the gpu and see if the problem remains, You can try giving the OS a reinstall for good measure.

Without wanting to read through this whole thread again are we still in the same position that your system only freezes when running the two demo games you mentioned at the begining. Have you as suggested got hold of an original non-torrented, uncracked, legit game and confirmed wether it does or does not work correctly on your system.

@Gorman: He told me games uses drivers and benchmarks try to use base spec. So you are saying that after i do an os re-install ,i get a new gpu?..so the drivers start fresh?. Also gorman i have no way of checking it for real games to see if the "problem" remains :/

@Maestro: My system gave me artefacts, crash and restarts, ctd and also wont recover from sleep mode. Sleep mode isnt game related, but the others are. I only had Crysis warhead torrent, crysis demo, fifa 11 demo, moh beta so far. Crysis warhead and crysis demo always did crash and restart near 82 degress and also give artefacts,i dont want to unlock catalyst center and void waranty.Fifa 11 was probably most stable but also gave stutering,ie freeze for 1 second then work 1 second etc. Moh beta sometimes crashes to desktop if i put on lowest settings possible, then crashed and restarted when at highest settings. Moh also gave me artefacts, much bigger artefacts than crysis.

Will be doing a fresh install of windows next weekend and try to start fresh.

Edit: Just found out asus have drivers for thier own graphics cards,ie asus 5770 cucore(which is mine). Should i download this or ati?
Also on the asus forums,it seems other people are finding crashes often and also unusally high temps...just at the top of the forum choose graphic card then eah5770.

Help :/

You should be able to use either drivers, give the ASUS a shot though. Drivers for laptops are more complicated tho as the inf files in each pack released by, say, nvidia often do not have all the vendors listed meaning u have to get their own driver off their site. With desktop GPUs i didnt think this was an issue...

Even if i gave asus a shot i dont know how to test it....but so far all the demos i have tried have failed in a small or a big way. Maestro tells me i have to get an original game :/

Do you not have any original games? There are a few free ones on Steam atm I think. Also, the original GTA is free I think

Sleinous has the right idea if you need a full game version. There is a game on Steam available for free download called Alien Swarm which uses Valve's Source engine (Half-Life 2, Counterstrike: Source, Team Fortress 2 etc.)

Can the first gta4 stress my cpu properly?...or these said games. And no i do not have any original games, cant afford atm.

edit: grand thefo atuo isnt free on steam :/

Alien Swarm should be a decent enough test to start with even though it's not the best graphical game. Best thing to do is go on a level on hard or something so there will be a lot of action on screen.

downloading age of conan which is a unlitmited trial. Hopefully it can stress my gpu as much as i want :/

Thanks for the help phoenix. I already used furmark and like said in the thread benchmarks seem to be fine and it seems to be games that crash or cause problems. Am unsure if i should test the cpu,as i dont think it could cause this?

I stand by my original diagnosis until proven wrong!

There is no technical difference between Unigine Heaven and Stone Giant to "a game".
