Brand new laptop, games are totally unplayable

I have installed Battlefield 4, GTA 5 and both games suffer from the same problem regardless of what settings I used. When playing, the game is stuttering immediately. Even when I have paused the game and i'm on the menu in GTA 5, same stuttering. The stuttering happens every 2 seconds where I'll have a huge drop in frame rate, it is totally unplayable.

I have updated to latest drivers, I'm running on turbo mode etc. I have no idea what to do but it seems my laptop should not be struggling to run legacy games...Any ideas most appreciated

In that case install HWMonitor and check your temps when on idle and when in game, keep hwmonitor open at the side and take a screenshot of the full readings when in game so it’s under load at that time.

Ok, no worries, sometimes that happens.

Try HWiNFO from here, it's a lot more in depth, we're particularly looking at the CPU temps when in game and percentage loads and any throttling flags:
