I think your domain should be pcs however I really think you should be sticking to being called pcspecialist. For new people to the website they need to know what your brand is about, comign to a website called pcs just looks like you sell PCs, to me doesnt sound like anything special. However seeing specialist in the name automatically draws people to the site, thats the only reason I gave the website a look tbh.
You should definitely keep the name pcspecialist.Just to gauge opinion, would you prefer us to be branded pcs.co.uk or pcspecialist. A the moment our only intention is to change our domain to pcs.co.uk and keep the name pcspecialist. Do people think we should move lock stock and be called pcs.co.uk.
I think pcs.co.uk should redirect to pcspecialist.co.uk personally
Hewlett Packard -> HP
It does at the moment, but long term, and for TV/radio avertising pcs.co.uk is easier. Plus, when you're in the pub having a pint pcs.co.uk rolls off the tongue, where as pcspecialist.co.uk is harder to remember. If "PC Specialist" continues to grow, if we're lucky enough maybe one day we'll be referred to as PCS more commonly. Many brands have shrunk their name as they became bigger:
Hewlett Packard -> HP
British Petroleum -> BP
General Motors -> GM
Ok, these are multi-national conglomerates and we're not, but we aim high.
Anyone else got any feedback?
I think one of the main factors for having so many customers is havign the word specialist in the brand.
By this did you mean in "specialist" the domain name, or "specialist" in the brand name? We're always going to be called PC Specialist, but perhaps now with a shorter domain name.
