PCSPECIALIST No picture on new pc

Remember to fully seat the power cable as well, as if it’s not fully seated (it should be hard up against the chassis) then you might encounter short circuits,

    PCSPECIALIST CHRISTMAS THREAD!!!!! ☃️⛄❄️⭐🌟🎁🌲🌨️🎄🎅🤶🔔🎅🎶💡🦌🛷⭐🍽️

The bruises don't hurt at all, it's the non-bruised bits that sting 🤕 Will have to ask the waitress to cut my steak up and feed it to me - might be triple time on Christmas day though.

    PCSPECIALIST CHRISTMAS THREAD!!!!! ☃️⛄❄️⭐🌟🎁🌲🌨️🎄🎅🤶🔔🎅🎶💡🦌🛷⭐🍽️

We're eating out tomorrow, as I couldn't be bothered preparing everything after only just arriving back (battered & bruised) from skiing. But have a medium rare 24oz churrasco tomahawk on order already.

PCSPECIALIST £1000 budget for 1st gaming PC

When you say... ...do you mean 'most older games that don't need lots of VRAM', or 'most triple-A games from the last 12 months', or 'most games from the last 12 months on low settings'? If we're talking about recent, triple-A games at 100fps at 1440p, such as: Black Myth Wukong Alan Wake 2...

    PCSPECIALIST One-liners

Well, this is my last evening in Banff, and we’ve had some snowfall since my ‘incident’ with the teenage zombie vampire Sasquatch attack. Can now lift my arm a bit higher, and every little twitch doesn’t end in cursing, but the bruising spread a little and covers around 270° on some parts of...

    PCSPECIALIST RAM Upgrade

That motherboard only has 2 RAM slots anyway, so might be difficult to squeeze an extra 2 in 😁

I think I must be allergic to spray deodorants and perfumes, because just walking past Boots or the perfume section of a department store / duty free will make the lining of my nose burn (feels similar to brain freeze from a slushy)...it’s even worse if I have to share public transport or a lift...

    PCSPECIALIST Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

Not forgetting his role as Beast in the younger X-Men films, Nux (the nitrous boy) in Mad Max Fury Road, co-starred in The Great with Elle Fanning, and not forgetting he played the titular Renfield with Nicolas Cage. He‘s also got a decent role in the new Nosferatu film, so he’s kept quite...

PCSPECIALIST Spec any good? Any changes you’d recommend? Is it too over kill etc?

It’s a very odd combination of parts for a 1080p gaming system, e.g: a production class CPU paired with a 4K gaming GPU very fast & expensive RAM that won’t give you any extra performance sub-optimal storage config for a gaming PC old and arguably underpowered ATX2.4 PSU low quality PCS cooler...

PCSPECIALIST Performance issues on Dragon age veilguard

For an i7 you’d need a H115i Capellix (2x140mm fans with 280mm rad) or H150i Capellix (3x120mm fans with 360mm rad). I think the 360mm version is the largest that case supports. If you want minimal wiring then the iCUE Link versions are the newest.

    PCSPECIALIST Bluetooth Dongle doesn’t work

Without registering we can’t see the whole list of components, so we cant tell if it has built in WiFi/bluetooth on the motherboard, or whether an add-in card was fitted, or whether there‘s anything provided at all, The answer to this could help us to diagnose the issue as we’d know where to...

I love skiing, but notice my legs get tired much quicker (due to combination of age and less frequent skiing trips), so have to build up my strength by doing one day, then a break, then 2 days, then a break, and continue that routine. …and it’s all relatively easy when there’s good snow and...

    PCSPECIALIST One-liners

This morning, I seem to have added yellow to my RGB portfolio. Strangely, the bruised bits don’t hurt…it‘s the six inches above & across the shoulder that are very tender (but no sign of bruising). Voltaren 2.32% plus Naproxen (stronger than Ibuprofen, but not anvailable over the counter in...

PCSPECIALIST Looking to put a GPU into a new build

Well, definitely nothing from Intel, and especially nothing in the i9 range, plus something with a PSU suitable for a gaming rig. The current gaming daddy is the AMD 9800X3D (12th gen Intel is 4 generations old). But we’d need to know of any other significant uses other than gaming to see if...
