Has anyone seen this before?

I've purchased this PC recently, added a 2nd graphics card to cover for the dedicated use of Physx since I still play a few games that require it, and yet when I loaded the pc...the 1030 graphics card is missing and has been replaced by a Radeon gpu?

I have tried disabling the gpu from device manager and have disabled integrated gpu from the bios...the former just did nothing whilst the latter removed the graphics card yet scanning for new hardware didn't find the correct gpu.

Also, when unlocking the memory in the bios, the default is cL40 not cL30. Is this normal to default to cL40 and then adjust them myself manually or is it meant to pre-load to cL30? Wondering if they gave me the wrong memory sticks (As I did request a change mid build when the cL30 sticks were available).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried DDU’ing all the graphics drivers and only reinstalling the Nvidia ones?

What other options show up in the bottom drop-down box which currently says ‘AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics’?

I haven't tried DDUing it yet. Didn't want to risk it if it's something really simple to fix. If I DDU it, what am I installing? The

The only other option in the bottom drop-down box is the 5090...When I disabled the integrated gpu from the bios, only the 5090 could be seen.

Just follow the DDU instructions to start in safe mode and remove both the Nvidia and AMD Adrenaline software - just so you know you have a clean base to start from.

Then install the Nvidia drivers - I believe you’ll get the same download whether you select the 5090 or the 1030 on the Nvidia download site…and see if they both show up when you plug monitors into each of them.

There should be no need to install the AMD GPU software unless you want the iGPU for light gaming or troubleshooting.

So I tried DDU...

First the AMD drivers, I disabled the integrated graphics in the bios and then ran DDU.

Then the Nvidia drivers...
DDU worked, however it only showed 1 graphics card...Microsoft basic display adapter.

I tried installing current drivers and still no sign of the 1030, only the 5090 is showing. Tried DDU again this time tried installing previous drivers that are only available for the 1030 but pre-date the 5090...Nvidia update states no compatible GPU, so I then re-installed the latest 5090 drivers again. Now the 1 graphics card...Microsoft basic display adapter shows as the 5090.

I've then re-enabled the integrated graphics in the bios and now I see 2 graphics cards again, 1 being the 5090 and the other being Microsoft basic display adapter. However, the system then immediately changes the basic display adapter back to the Radeon graphics card and now I'm back to where I was at the start.

I guess the next step is to check whether the 1030 is working at all. But to do that you’ll likely have to remove the 5090 and swap the 1030 to the main GPU slot (leaving the 5090 out of course).

Can I also check that you only have the listed 2 SSDs installed in m.2_1 and m.2_2 slots, and nothing in m.2_3 slot, as using both m.2_2 and m.2_3 slots will disable the second PCIEx16 slot.

As above. Sounds like either the card is faulty or the slot you are using is disabled. There may be a need to configure in the BIOS, it's possible that the enable/disable is automatic though.

With regards to the RAM, check what the model number is in CPUz. This will let you know what RAM you have. It's possible the wrong profile has been set or the wrong RAM has been fitted. knowing the model number should help steer you in the right direction.

I'm going to swap the gpu's later today so i'll let you know how far I get.

I haven't added anything to the M.2 slots aside from what was in the above original build. So unless the original config of the 2 ssd's and 2 gpu's have already ko'd the PCIEx16 slot, then I'm anticipating its likely to be a faulty gpu.

Just check the slots they’re in as based on that it could lock out the PCIe slot

Turns out its the M.2 slots. Seems the 5090 and 2x m.2 slots doesn't leave enough room for the 1030. Thanks for all your support, seems the pc wasn't tested properly prior to dispatch (Hence the wrong ram as well).

Sorry, not following? Can you clarify what you mean, doesn't make a lot of sense?

Did you tell PCS that you had planned on running a second GPU? When I select the 1030 in the build you listed it shows it's not compatible so that would come down to your own choices?

With regards to the RAM, did you check the model number?

Yeah I did...Funny thing is, I rang to ask if I could have a 2nd gpu installed to be used as a dedicated physx card as the build was on hold anyway awaiting stock of the 9950x3d. They said best go for the cheapest option to avoid wasting money and so we agreed on the 1030. Afterwards, When I tried to amend the order only to change from cl40 to cl30, it came up with that same error message about incompatible issue. I figured it was just gremlins in the system but hindsight is a wonderful thing. PCS has agreed to refund the 1030 and has placed a collection for it. Lesson learned.

Yeah I checked the model number and it shows it's cl40...So the build was incorrectly amended/tested prior to delivery.

If you contact them about the RAM they should be able to sort that as well.
