PCSPECIALIST Looking to buy a new RTX 30 Laptops - what do you think?

Personally I'd go with a SSD (not M.2) as a secondary drive or an old school spinny HD, works out cheaper and means you can afford a bigger capacity drive. If you are just having the second drive for storage then you could be wasting money on the M.2, as you may not see any benefit.

    PCSPECIALIST Should I be worried...

Post up your ordering page, sometimes moving to AMD works out cheaper. As for Intel builds on peoples sig page, either they are older systems or like me, went in blindly and ordered without asking first.

PCSPECIALIST Just looking for somebody with some more knowledge than me to check my build.

Have a look at these two threads, top tips but I'm sure one of the guru's will be along soon- https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/desktop-building-guide-sept-2020.67892/ https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/amd-vs-intel.72675/

PCSPECIALIST USB doesn't appear as a boot option in BIOS

As @Scott says, are you plugging it into a USB 2.0 slot (white markings), also make sure you are using one of the USB ports in the back of the machine (on the I/O board).

That was my point, the OP is ordering two power packs and leads, they might need them but worth checking.

PCSPECIALIST First draft of a new laptop build

Had a tweak- https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/ionico-17/dxH7458Kcj/ Just checking, but you have added an extra power pack and lead? Had to drop the primary drive down to 500gb to get Samsung, you could tweak this again if you want. Deffo get someone else to check this spec

PCSPECIALIST First draft of a new laptop build

What sort of gaming are you planning, 32gb is over the top. The 3070 will drive the 1440p screen with ease, no one knows really how the suppliers are handling the temps yet, it's a bit up in the air tbh. You havent got a great deal of choice ref the CPU. Deffo bin the Intel drives. Can you post...

    PCSPECIALIST HDMI output?

Ideally you should post the link to the ordering page for your specific laptop, however I've gone to the config page and on the 15.6" Ionico, it does say HDMI output at the top of the page, so yes it should have a port.

PCSPECIALIST I need help for a new laptop

Personally, it's down to looks but maybe the second laptop has a few extra options and as stated above has a better screen. I'd put a 512gb PCS M.2 drive in as the windows (primary) drive and then a second 1TB PCS M.2 drive in to save stuff onto (you could drop the primary down to 256GB if money...

PCSPECIALIST Help - No idea what I am doing! Gaming PC for teenager

Although the following page is a few months old, it will give you some idea of the costs involved in building a PCS system. It all comes down to the monitor spec you have (or if you intend to upgrade this?) and your budget-...

PCSPECIALIST Octane Series: 17.3 Shutting Down When Power Disconnects

Coming late to the party, but as you said mate there were several chassis that do not like twin M.2 slots being used (especially with Samsung drives). 22% wear isnt bad and I wouldn't advise splurging out just yet.

    PCSPECIALIST Feedback/help appreciated!

Yeah you can select it, but it's greyed out in the config page. I'm probably wrong but if you go through with the order it will give you an error message

I did mate and I followed the link. The 2060 is not an option, it's greyed out. If he buys the 3060Ti he is still under the 1200 quid budget

Where are you seeing the 2060 anyway? I've looked on your config link and it's not even an option?

PCSPECIALIST RTX 3000 mobile TGP - early discussions

It's literally a minefield out there with the new 3000 mobile chips, although as Linus says in the vid below, the 2000 series were exactly the same-

    PCSPECIALIST Feedback/help appreciated!

I would deffo up the warranty to Silver, if memory serves it's only £6 extra. Are you buying the 2060 due to the newer generation cards being out of stock or price (not sure if they are more expensive?), however I would deffo hold out for the 3000 series.

A lot of people didnt like the Mass Effect series, personally it's one of my favorite games.

    PCSPECIALIST This look ok?

As @Stephen M states, there are options available. It will be down to your budget and what you need the laptop to do. From what I can see, this is one of the ultra portable laptops, that may have massive battery life but if you want it to do intensive stuff then it's not the PC for you.
