Unfortunately my 2.5 4tb external wd drive started playing up , only had it for just over a year and now it’s vibrating and pc doesn’t recognise it, wish I kept a backup!

Looking forward to installing it in my PC, waiting for my Amazon delivery today!

I figured the answer to my question out I think, my question was will the internal NAS drive be recognised as a network drive automatically like the external mycloud drive using mycloud software. But its just a better quality hdd like you said with no software attached to it.

So bought this NAS drive yesterday, I currently have a external mycloud Nas drive and do have local access to it. Will this drive have network access software or is this basically a better quality hard drive ?

I would only occasionally stream and just family videos so can I get away with installing the plex server/software on my C: drive(M2) and keep the media files where they currently are on the second M2 drive. Or I could install plex on the second M2 drive also. I also have two 3TB HDDs, all empty...

I do have two spare Hdds in my new pc for storage, I could test it out couldnt I and download the plex software

Mine will be for storing my family edited movies. So it can be a normal hdd too and as long as u run plex it will work as a NAS drive , accessible through plex? Have you tried playing /streaming 4k media?

Ah okay, so the best would be to buy a NAS HDD slot it in your PC, and if possible buy another disk (sdd) just for running PLEX. This is actually better I think. I will definitely consider this. Knowing me I’ll have it by tomorrow lol

Thanks I have changed that like above. Had a dabble yesterday and although the export settings were set to export 4k the output video was grainy. Guess I will have to mess about.

Thanks, I have both monitors connected using dp connectors and one with hdmi too, the one with both displays the hdmi input for cctv, how do I change input to dp? Duplicate my Pc ?

Lol there are alot of cables, most of them aerial and virgin cables left by previous owner and I don’t want to cut them. Also 8 cables are for my cctv. I’ll try to tidy them up more! I haven’t updated anything yet. Il try windows update.

Quick question regarding Adobe Premiere, I was told to set my software to use the second drive as a cache- does that purely mean I export the videos to this drive or is there anything I need to do in settings in Adobe Premiere? Ifso please how? I’m a Adobe Premiere learner.
