Awesome, thanks for all the info.
Currently I have the ZOTAC GEFORCE RTX 5080 AMP EXTREME INFINITY, so I’ve been a bit disappointed with my ZOTAC experience so far. It looks really nice though.
I don’t think PC Specialist have any more of them in stock so hopefully I can get this one...
Got it, I’ll stick with the 5080 then if I do in fact need a replacement.
Do you recommend certain brands over others? Are some more reliable? E.g. Zotac, MSI, GIGABYTE
Yikes. Only 2 years? So you think a 4090 or 5090 is a better investment?
I went for the 5080 as it’s cheaper than the 4090 and similar price to the 4080 Super, and also has DLSS4 which is quite useful for my 240Hz monitor.
Ahhh okay, understood! I’ll have to wait for the new driver then before I decide what to do next with my PC.
Yep, I’m brand new to custom build PCs. Been a PlayStation gamer most my life, but I’m sure the PC will give me a greater gaming experience (once I get it to work).
That’s partly why...
I thought the driver only gets installed when you login to Windows after DDU and try to install it yourself?
Would you be able to provide the step by step guide to reinstall the drivers? Maybe I’m doing it in the wrong order.
Yeah, I’ve tried that about 20 times now. Every time I select clean and restart it just loads up with a black screen and purple glitching occasionally.
When I select clean and don’t restart, I restart manually and it’s fine.
Very strange…
No, I believe Windows is all setup now. I was able to download all the Windows and driver updates by using my motherboard graphics only and disabling the RTX 5080 in Device Manager to prevent the black screens.
My only worry is if it’s not a GPU issue and something else instead, I don’t want to waste time sending parts back and forth.
Also, I’m no expert, so I’d rather have the GPU installed by a professional if it turns out to be a hardware issue. Also, when I received my PC, the top of the case was...
So I’ve tried the Hotfix with the 572.16 Driver and still no luck.
And yes, I’ve tried PCIe 4.0 instead of Auto. Still getting Code 43.
One thing I’ve noticed is my PC (I think it’s the GPU) becomes very loud after plugging it in. Taking out the power supply from the GPU makes my PC much quieter.
So as per guidance from PC Specialist, after trying all other solutions, I ran DDU, had my GPU reseated, and then downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia.
This actually managed to remove the Code 43 error from Device Manager and the Nvidia app was even able to recognise my RTX 5080, so I...
So at this point I’m convinced it’s a GPU issue. By disabling the RTX 5080 within Device Manager, this has enabled me to download Windows updates and restart my PC without encountering a black screen issue.
I guess it’s a hardware issue as installing the latest driver and Windows updates still...
Ahhh okay.
Wherever I install the remaining Windows updates and restart my PC, the screen blacks out and lags after restart.
When this happens I keep having to enter Windows Recovery Mode and restore Windows to before the updates to fix the black screen issue again. Stuck in a loop…
UPDATE: Booted into normal mode and my RTX 5080 is now showing up in Device Manager, but it’s displaying error Code 43, not sure if it’s a hardware or software issue.
Have tried installing the NVIDIA drivers through the app and manually through a USB, but to no avail. Just keeps sending me in a...
So I’ve reverted the latest set of updates and I’m able to get into Windows again.
In Device Manager I’m noticing my RTX 5080 GPU isn’t listed. However, when I boot into Safe Mode, it’s there…
So I’ve managed to get WiFi after installing the drivers for it.
I’ve attempted to install Windows updates and the NVIDIA driver also which required a restart. I’ve restarted and now my system seems very laggy and can’t even get past the Windows login screen before black screening. Still...
So I think I’ve managed to clean install Windows.
The issues now are I’m still connected to the motherboard HDMI input, switching inputs to the GPU brings back the black screen.
And also, I don’t seem to have any option for WiFi at all…
