Yeah I second that on what spyder said. I had unfortunately bad timing on ordering my pc and had to ask PCS to downclock the 6000mhz to 5600mhz. It allowed me to keep them and wait for a fix. The plus side was when I went to amend stuff, before it went into production, it excluded the cost on...
Well they took my advice and downclocked it to 5600mhz which got it working and is now awaiting dispatch! When the time comes and fix does come out, will I have to contact PCS for permission to clock them up to 6000mhz? So not to void warranty.
If after this email they say they can't do anything about it. I'll just be canceling my order.
It's understandable and frustrating when things like this don't work right away when building a PC and I get they have a ton of other PCs to work on, but sometimes I get the feeling they do the bare...
So this was the response from them. They're trying to get me to buy another CPU or RAM to get it to work but I've spotted numerous people with this build and they're fine with it now after tweaks to the ram. I've suggested downclocking the ram but they seem to be ignoring me on that suggestion...
Great... then I have no choice but to change the CPU or cancel at this rate, I'm pretty set on this build to be honest.
I've asked on chat about EXPO being turned off and through email to downclock the ram between 5200-5600mhz.. Guess I'll have to see what happens now.
Yeah it's annoying. I'm starting to lean into canceling my order and just waiting now, parts will only get cheaper. I don't want this to be stuck in testing for weeks and weeks.
So pc specialist are trying to suggest I go from the 7800 x3d to the 7900x cpu because 'it works flawlessly' when they try to post. They say the 7800 x3d is conflicting with the 6000mhz ram which is causing the 'no post'.
For some reason, despite checking others with this build on the fourm and...
I've requested a downclock to 5600mhz from 6000mhz which seems to be a temporary fix after searching around on the Internet. You're definitely right, common issue right now.
I'll see what they say.
Thank you for your opinion!
Hmm okay so should I hold fire on the 5600mhz and just say to delay till some form of fix happens for the 6000mhz? Maybe for the time being I could select a cheap pair of ram from them and upgrade it myself when it's fixed? Kinda hit a wall here...
So they're at the testing stage and they're saying that the 7800X3D is not posting due to the corsair vengeance ddr5 16x2 6000mhz not liking each other? which takes it to safe mode all the time.
Supposedly they tried the 7900 X cpu and it works flawlessly.. Thing is, I know the 7800X3D is...
The initial build price was the one presented (sck451s build) to me at £2030, the only thing I changed from that was RGB on the ram, Which made it £2046 that was it.
I then the next day added in 3 LL120 Corsair RGB fans, I then went on to do the changes presented to you above.
Jesus if this is...
Alright, let me go into details of the changes as I did for suborders with no amendedment cost.
Date: 26/05/23 to change from a RX 6950 XT to a RX 7900 XT, it cost £52.00 including VAT
Few days later, I thought I would check what it would cost for the best Amd graphics card.
Date: 29/05/23 to...
Nope, for some dam reason, both the 6950XT and the 7900XT showed as the same price now as I've just looked 😂 and the 7900XTX is only +£150 more than both of these cards. the Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 ti is in fact cheaper by precisely -£38.00 when it comes to the 7900XT.. Very odd. I'm only going...
I ended up pushing the budget with the RX 6950 XT to a 7900 XT, however, I'm seeing the 12GB ASUS TUF GEFORCE RTX 4070 Ti OC EDITION for basically bang on the same price as the 7900 XT now. Would you say that's a better card over the 7900 XT? My PC is still in pre-production so I can change...
So I've made the order with a slight tweak on the ram, just for the RGB only. I'm still curious about which SSD would be best for the OS? considering write speeds and such. I'm not super savvy in regards to this but is the 1TB slower than the 500gb Firecuda? especially if I want loading times to...
Thank you so much for helping me! Final question before I make the jump. I have a windows 7 key from my old system which was updated through 'windows update' to 10. My plan was to use that going into my new set up. Just curious if I can do that or do I need to get a new key with the current windows?
