Mid range gaming PC spec £1500-£2000 is this decent?

The pricing needs more context than simply what the amendments were though, you need to look at what the initial build price was to ensure the pricing is as expected.

The initial build price was the one presented (sck451s build) to me at £2030, the only thing I changed from that was RGB on the ram, Which made it £2046 that was it.
I then the next day added in 3 LL120 Corsair RGB fans, I then went on to do the changes presented to you above.

Jesus if this is an error on their part, what a dam good error haha! should I just stick with the overkill of the 7900 XTX for that cheap of a price?

Ok, I think I might know what it is and I would be very careful and double check the spec.

When you made the amendment, did the RAM change from RGB to the slowest and lowest option? That's the only way I can get the pricing to match what you're saying. The high end DDR options have been removed from the configurator which is no doubt causing a ton of errors.

Just double check that your latest amendment has the rest of the spec configured correctly, as per what you initially had.

Yep 32gb corsair vengeance ddr5 rgb 2x16 is still on it all okay, hasn't been amended off or anything

Your order is good to go then. I would suggest the pricing is messed up due to this, but that's not your fault :)

If I click on @sck451's link, I get taken to a price far lower than the advertised 2030, and this is due to the RAM changing. My thinking is that when you're amending, it's changing the price to correlate with the aforementioned RAM issue, but not re-adjusting once you've checked out.

You can only pay for what you are charged so seems you may have gotten a bit of a freebie :)

So they're at the testing stage and they're saying that the 7800X3D is not posting due to the corsair vengeance ddr5 16x2 6000mhz not liking each other? which takes it to safe mode all the time.

Supposedly they tried the 7900 X cpu and it works flawlessly.. Thing is, I know the 7800X3D is better for gaming and overall better than that cpu.

They said they're going to try the 5600mhz ram rather than the 6000mhz.

Anyone savvy when it comes to things like this? Surprised they don't work together to be honest.

We’re seeing this a lot with the new Asus BIOS having instability even with EXPO off at 6000MHz.

PCS have pulled 6000MHz for the time being for this reason.

AMD are working on a proper fix for the voltages, but no idea when it’s going to roll out.

6000mhz will work properly once this fix is out I have no doubt, and it’s the optimal speed / performance on AM5

Hmm okay so should I hold fire on the 5600mhz and just say to delay till some form of fix happens for the 6000mhz? Maybe for the time being I could select a cheap pair of ram from them and upgrade it myself when it's fixed? Kinda hit a wall here...

If it were me, I'd just select the bottom tier 8Gb RAM literally as throwaway and then as you say, source my own 6000MHz

But it may be worth speaking to PCS first, get their perspective

I've requested a downclock to 5600mhz from 6000mhz which seems to be a temporary fix after searching around on the Internet. You're definitely right, common issue right now.
I'll see what they say.

So pc specialist are trying to suggest I go from the 7800 x3d to the 7900x cpu because 'it works flawlessly' when they try to post. They say the 7800 x3d is conflicting with the 6000mhz ram which is causing the 'no post'.

For some reason, despite checking others with this build on the fourm and they managed to get a working PC (same cpu/motherboard/ram) they said the PC won't post with the 7800 x3d.

I've now emailed them if they can try updating the BIOs to the current non beta BIO for Asus as it's only been around this week and last that they tried to rectify issues through updates, if I'm not mistaken.

I've also suggested the downclocking to them.

This is starting to turn into a faff now 😭

Yeah the 7900X as great as it is; is distinctly not a 7800X3D and they both serve different functions. Not a swap I'd make personally. I'd take the 7800X3D and deal with the issues until AMD and the board manufacturers figure this one, looks like it's going to be a long one though likely take months

Yeah it's annoying. I'm starting to lean into canceling my order and just waiting now, parts will only get cheaper. I don't want this to be stuck in testing for weeks and weeks.

Don't think they'll turn off EXPO. This is what I got when I queried about the BIOS and EXPO after ordering my PC.

Interesting that's the case.

They can still down-clock it for stability though :)
