Ouch. Did your laptop have any drive bracket or securing mechanism? Or was it only held by the connector?
The Vortex IX has a metal bracket that screws into the back end of the ssd/hdd, and then you screw that down into the chassis. The padding more for vibration purposes I guess.
Kyronaut will not help as it is lower in thermal conductivity. I dont think there is a heatsink there isnt designed to work with LM unless it is aluminium based.
Tests were done with stock -0.050V undervolt and auto fan profile, will test more.
Oh I already had the laptop suspended between two...
Updated the 2nd Post with TimeSpy, FireStrike Extreme/Ultra and PortRoyal Raytracing benchmarks.
cpuz/gpuz/hwmonitor temps also included during the test run. Look at the max temps!
I havent touched the undervolt, but the laptop came undervolted by -0.050V out of the box. Its gonna be a very hot beast of a CPU. Gonna push more negative voltage offsets once I get the default benchmarks done.
EDIT: I forgot to mention I even double checked my LM application to make sure it...
Yea, I know its for cushioning and maybe reducing vibration. But if some had a 9.5mm drive that wanted to stick it in its not going to fit with the pad in the way. Im not saying that it is guaranteed to fit with the pad removed, because I did not try to remove it
Im updating my windows to...
Post merge to make space.
Yes I reapplied thermal paste with Kyronaut and conductonaut.
I didnt take the Recoil III because it is only upgradable to a RTX 2070 max-Q which is a power throttled version of the RTX 2070 mobile in the Vortex IX
Oh I didnt notice that the 17.3" had a non max-q...
Memory Overclocking:
Managed to get my 2666mhz vengeance ram to 3000mhz.
IMPORTANT *READ THIS*
The memory overclocking profile is unintuitive. I say that because in nowhere does it provide any info on what frequency you will be applying, and the [custom XMP2] column does NOT show the values...
CPU-Z/ GPU-Z
Its sorta wierd that cpu-z (version 1.88) is referring to the processor name as 8850H (bug?), but the specification is correct 9750H.
Cinebench R15:
1319 points and max temps at 84c on the highest core. [4.0ghz constant during run]
There seems to be a wierd (bug?) that the turbo...
Hello,
I finally recieved my PCSpecialist Vortex IX today, first time using a PCSpecialist Laptop (and also a clevo laptop).
The Vortex IX uses a Clevo PB50RF chassis, and mine comes configured with a i7-9750H and a RTX2070 8gb. Full specs of my configuration is down below.
What you recieve...
Its a QUANTA NL5C according to https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/proteus-vi-quanta-nl5c.60505/
You can see clevo laptops if u go to this link https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/clevo-laptops/40/
EDIT...
@DNjR The Vortex IX has a 62WH battery on the specs page which is decent. How large do you need a battery to be for you?
Thats why I suggest you purchase the Vortex IX if u wanted the 9750H with the same configuration as the Proteus VI. Most of us here who frequent this forum arent staff of...
Get the Vortex IX which is the configuration you want 9750H + 2070.
Compared to the proteus its stated as a lighter 2.5kg chassis, narrower bezel display and inclusion of G-Sync with the 144hz panel.
If you are asking for the same 9750H to match the price of the 8750H you are out of luck. The...
@xKDCx well, proteus VI has the best price compared to the 9th gen counterpart the Vortex IX (which im currently configuring to purchase). With the same configuration that I wanted with the proteus, it came up to about ~£200 more with the only difference being the cpu and the chassis (and the...
@Oussebon I just saw it thanks to your post!
Will be considering my options here and pre-ordering one.
The 9750H might not be a 8c/8t cpu although previous leaks hinted. Seems like a 6c/12thread cpu instead.
