PROTEUS VI RTX with I7 9750H?

Hello,
I saw recently that i7 9750H laptops are out but i'm wondering if there would be I7 9750H in PROTEUS because the offer is really good and I would like to have the latest processor because the I7 8750H is a bit old for me ( even though the I7 8750H was released last year ).
Or would there be a new laptop like a PROTEUS VII RTX? Which could have the same offer?
(Excuse me for my bad english).

Get the Vortex IX which is the configuration you want 9750H + 2070.
Compared to the proteus its stated as a lighter 2.5kg chassis, narrower bezel display and inclusion of G-Sync with the 144hz panel.

If you are asking for the same 9750H to match the price of the 8750H you are out of luck. The special offer tag on the proteus VI has no price change -meaning maybe clearing stock.

I would advise you to get the 8750H proteus VI. Its a good option regardless, unless you want to pay the early adopter tax of about 200 dollars

In what was is the CPU old?

What are you using the system for? What do you need the extra CPU performance for?

The 9750H in other chassis is ~£100 more expensive than the 8750H.

The Vortex will be more expensive of course so it depends on the budget.

And also, I probably wouldn't buy a new offering without some reviews of it first.

@ixende [/USER]I forgot to mention that i prefer the PROTEUS cause the battery seems good to me compared to the other i don't mind paying 100 or 200 £ more and it's like more cheaper than a lot of laptops with the same config. I don't really need Nvidia G-SYNC a 144 hz with 3ms is enough but I like the high performance

I intend to use the laptop for gaming, works , etc... for many years

@DNjR The Vortex IX has a 62WH battery on the specs page which is decent. How large do you need a battery to be for you?
Thats why I suggest you purchase the Vortex IX if u wanted the 9750H with the same configuration as the Proteus VI. Most of us here who frequent this forum arent staff of pcspecialist and neither am I, so we dont have any way to check if the Proteus will get a cpu upgrade.

However, based on others who purchased it recently and the fact that it is on "special offer" it is unlikely that they will upgrade the Proteus VI. Furthermore the Vortex IX is the laptop that is replacing the Proteus with the exact same specs.

You even know that the performance difference is not much, so I doubt a 10% loss in performance will affect you in gaming and work in the next few years. This is coming from me who is upgrading a 5700HQ with a 970m and using it for 4 years, so comparing the performance with the 5700HQ, 6700HQ and the 7700HQ to the 8750H shows minor improvements in performance up to the 8750H

So you can expect Intel to follow the same trend for the next few years as we are hitting the thermal limits of laptop design until the shift to performance optimization (10nm maybe?)

Im pretty sure that if u properly overclock the 8750H and control the thermals (eg undervolt and liquidmetal repaste) you can most likely achieve similar performance with the 9750H

Userbenchmark is a very dangerous and unreliable tool. It's bad data, lumping together results from all kinds of systems (with potentially all kinds of problems, and/or running out of spec).

Probably better to go off the scores on notebookcheck - which again comes from a number of different systems but the tests are more controlled and you can at least drill down into what systems were used if you need. Also the benchmarks they themselves user are more transparent and easier to compare (easy to look up a Cinebench score - but reviewers tend not to use Userbenchmark, probably for the above reasons!)

That said, of course I agree with the overall point, which is that even if a CPU scores ~10% higher in Cinebench, that doesn't mean much for gaming performance at all.

If your work is encoding videos, maybe there's an argument for it, but for gaming, it's not really giving you anything for the extra cost.

I think i will wait a bit but honestly i don't know because i've been waiting for years to buy a laptop waiting for the best performance

What sort of chassis is the Proteus? It's superb value for money, but apparently doesn't play nice with Linux which makes me think it isn't Clevo

so the Proteus VII has arrived and it's a fine looking beast too, thought it worth pointing out in case DNJR hasn't settled on one yet :)

I'm interested to know if it's any more Linux-friendly than it's predecessor, which by all accounts was a nightmare to install Ubuntu on!
