I followed the pea-sized method on Arctic's on YouTube channel:
After applying the pastes, the GPU temps were running 29-30 degrees idle and 65 degrees on ultra settings on new games, while the CPU is running at 50+ degrees idle and skyrocketing to 90+ degrees during load.
About a month ago, I decided to apply the Arctic MX 5 thermal paste to my CPU and GPU to my laptop as my laptop was over a year old at this point and the temperatures were starting to increase to noticeable differences. Thankfully, this re-paste went well and my laptop's temperatures decreased...
I can hear audio through the speakers perfectly (not muted). When plugging in earphones, the sound continues to play through the speakers with nothing coming through the earphones.
A couple of months ago, I posted a thread talking about how sound would play through both speakers and earphones when the earphone pin was fully inserted into the headphone jack. However, I have now got an issue where there is zero sound coming from earphones when plugged into the headphone...
I recently had an issue where all audio would play through both my laptop speakers and earphones when the earphones are fully inserted to the headphone jack. Strangely enough, the audio correctly stops playing through the speakers if the earphone's aren't fully inserted to the headphone jack...
I'd assume it'll be based on how easy it is to replicate your issue and knowing how to properly fix it. I can only speak from my own personal experience, but I had an RMA a few weeks ago and it only took them 3 working days before it was ready to be returned with DPD.
I thought I'd update the thread for you since I received my laptop today after sending it back to PCSpecialist for an RMA.
They quickly confirmed the fault was with the GPU, so they replaced and tested a new GPU before sending it back. I've been playing the games today that previously crashed...
The last time I used it was 21st July. I checked the temps with HWMonitor and they all look fine (70 max in-game, 49 max when idle). I re-pasted both my CPU and GPU again yesterday just in case it was a temperature issue, but I think I can safely rule that out now.
I recently RMA'd my new laptop to get fixed, so I figured I'd use my older PCSpecialist laptop (purchased in 2014/2015) in the meantime. Unfortunately, when I switched on the laptop yesterday, I immediately noticed my mouse cursor stuttering (animations etc. aren't smooth anymore) across the...
So, during games like Overwatch, I'd frequently get colour changes, artificating, or rendering device lost crashes. On other games, it would just be a general crash requiring the game to be restarted. I sent my laptop back to PCSpecialist for repairs (should be delivered to them by tomorrow)...
Yeah, it was only a temporary fix to basically confirm it was a GPU issue. I've requested an RMA from PCSpecialist so hopefully I can update the thread when it gets sent back and let the other user know if the crashing issue is still there.
If you install/download the Clevo Control Center, pushing the Fn + 1 keys simultaneously puts the fans on their maximum speed. I usually have them on full when playing games to keep the temperatures cool.
I found a potential solution online that suggested reducing the memory clock of the GPU by -50 with a software called MSI Afterburner. I tried it earlier today as a last resort. I then played Overwatch for 3 hours to test it and had zero crashes. I'll try other games in the mean time but it...
Have you had any luck with a fix yet? PCSpecialist asked me to reinstall the drivers for both the Intel and Nvidia GPU's which unfortunately didn't work. At this point I think it's probably a hardware issue
I've also just had an issue where my game went green/yellow randomly when playing a game. I also updated my GPU drivers to the newest and nothing improved yet. I've never had any of these issues on my last purchase from PCSpecialist (980M GPU).
