Yes as I said in my opening post, troubleshoot is not picking up any errors.
And below is my device manager. Microphone is present and seem to be working. I did uninstall it and restarted to let Windows reinstall the driver, which it did, to no avail.
EDIT: It is now working again, without...
Hi all,
Since today, my built-in microphone stopped working on my Cosmos IX, Windows 10 20H2 update. I tried the Windows troubleshooting which doesn't pick up any problems, and I also tried removing the microphone in device manager, let Windows reinstall the driver, without luck. The mic is...
No, I don't have an antivirus other than Windows Defender.
I can't identify what drivers are needed for the pad though. Mouse devices only lists the following two:
HID-compliant mouse and Microsoft PS/2 Mouse
Hey guys,
Ever since I have my Cosmos IX, the touchpad ever so often hangs and stop responding for about 1 or 2 seconds. It's not so often that it becomes a real problem, but it can be quite frustrating at times.
I wonder: what could it be? I would want to reinstall the drivers but I can't...
Hey guys,
I need to use some piece of kit over the weekend which runs through FireWire...
I know it's possible to find Thunderbolt 3 to FireWire adapter from Apple, and that Thunderbolt 3 uses the same connector as USB-C, but does that mean that the board will support such adapter though? I am...
Correct. The initial drivers I was given were not exactly delivered properly, but that may have to do with my decision to order the PC without any OS pre-installed: I'm sure PC Specialist would have tested everything thoroughly if they could. The drivers on the CD are fine but I had to look a...
You have a similar issue?
I wouldn't say it has completely resolved, but it has greatly improved and is now ok to listen to. It was a combination of making sure the drivers were installed correctly, especially the Clevo EQ, and what I think might be related to use. It's not uncommon for...
That's what I thought too, maybe that piece of foam shouldn't be there. It's glued to the chassis but I can take it off. If I do need to put it back, can I use super glue safely in a laptop chassis knowing there is quite a bit of heat during games?
As for touching the speaker, it seems like...
Some more updates!
Upon opening the chassis as per advised by PCS, I can't find any visible fault on the drivers themselves or any loose connection.
What I did notice is that on the chassis, above the left speaker, there is a foam which seems to be here for to manage vibrations. On the right...
Agreed.
It's not held by the tape, I think it's just there to add an extra layer of protection as well as cable management. It looks odd but it seems to be doing a good job. Obviously the builder should have been careful to ensure no sticky side is left on a movable part like a chassis to avoid...
Yes! I actually just checked once more before seeing your post. Both antennas were disconnected.
Here what I reckon has happened. The clear tape that was used to secure the antenna connections to the laptop was twisted and some of its sticky part was exposed to the chassis when it was closed...
Sorry for double post.
Some updates.
I reopened the chassis and checked if I could find anything wrong. I looked specifically at the connections around the killer network adapter and there are two wired connection, aux1 and main2. They are both connected and there is some sort of small clear...
Is it something to do with BT range as well? I am also having difficulties with BT though on a different build. It would be interesting to know if our issues are related.
My Bluetooth devices drop out as soon as I move 10cm away from the laptop. Similar issue for you?
They are rechargeable batteries and they have like 90% charge. There was no issue using them at 20% before...
I just tested to send a file from my phone at a greater distance (but still short, 2m), and that failed. So yeah, definitely something not working as it should on the laptop end.
I tried Bluetooth headphones and Bluetooth speakers. Both same issue. Both have near full batteries.
My phone though seems to be working quite far from the laptop. Maybe it transmits at a much larger range. Many of the devices my phone's picks up during a BT scan aren't seen by the laptop...
Hey everyone,
Cosmos IX owner here. I've got a Killer AX1650.
I have been using my Bluetooth speakers ever since I got the laptop without any issues but tonight, the range has dropped to the point where if I move my speaker away from the case of the laptop to say, 10cm away, the sound will drop...
