You'd need better processor cooling.
You mentioned doing multiple tasks at once and that is an area AMD is far better at as well? 16 cores on the 3950x. But that is probably overkill. There are plenty of people with great advice on here.
So your CPU is a very high spec, but your ram is slow. 2400mhz ram will bottleneck the CPU I believe? I am learning as well, but think this is correct. You would want 3200-3600mhz ram.
You would want one storage drive to be an M2 as they are much faster than SSD or hhd. Again the system would...
It's not just motherboard, it was nearly everything right? I remember when the ps3 came out and I couldn't afford it, but I didn't buy a ps2. I think I did wait over a year and then bought one, they were better then with a new design I think. Maybe not the best analogy, but it's not that far...
I know you're supposed to run Windows update several times, even if it says no updates available, but that's about it. I'm interested in this as well and was going to ask the same question.
I thought I had read a post with a few things, but can't find it now.
Well yes the 3300x would be the desired CPU.
Your mother board is very old? This is allows for future upgrades, is yours even compatible?
Your ram is slow, at least up the speed to 3200
The GPU is the smallest change I've made I think?
M2 drives are much faster and your storage is low, but...
Im no expert, but dont most PC's struggle to last ten years? Because technology advances so much right?
Next generation GPU's and CPU's are not far away, and then game makers will slowly start to incorporate that tech into their new games over the next few years?
If we try to look at this another way, the system I posted above would last five years? Extra storage isn't much and a 2000 series GPU could be picked up fairly cheaply in 6-12 months for an upgrade in that department.
So then the cost per year of use is much, much better. Could possibly be...

I went into build just now 😃
First estimated date was July 3rd, yesterday it was the 2nd and now I'm in build. So as others have reported, they are making up time recently.
From what I've learned on here, £800 is around the minimum you need to spend to get a PC that can run games to a decent level. The extra £200 will also last you a lot longer, years more I believe. You'd struggle to play games now with the system you've configured and in a year you won't be able...
"The people on here all have agendas too, but it's not monetary related. Nobody on here gets paid anything, everyone is a volunteer. People contribute on here because they genuinely want to help, and it's not hard to tell which members have real knowledge and experience. You cannot pretend to be...
Perspective eh. I've been sat at home safe and well this whole time. People across the world are still going to work, some working harder than ever, and with not much thanks, appreciation or understanding.
Good post
Can you wait another few months or early next year and up your budget by then? I'm not prying, just passing on what I've read.
The next generation of GPU's are out soon, which will make the current 2000 series cheaper you would assume?
The 3300x chip is great for gaming but currently out of...
