The RTX 2070 in the Nova, from memory is a completely different board compared to the "other" GPU's fitted to laptops. It might be because they have withdrawn them due to no longer receiving stock, might be worth asking them by phone and/or Live Chat
Which cooler have you got underneath, I bought the Coolermaster one from PCS and tbh it's pretty useless, as it has one fan thats borderline asthmatic.
Would suggest you try to google "Best laptop coolers" but tbh the Intels do run fairly hot and there isnt a great deal you can do.
If this rig is purely for gaming @ 1440p then I would consider dropping the CPU, as the 5900X is a bit of an overkill tbh, also if you aren't playing MS Flight Sim or similar then you probably dont need 32GB of RAM either.
You could drop your main SSD down a little as suggested, personal...
I'm not 100% sure if this forum is allowed to advise on other builds tbh bud
That GPU will pull around 200 wattts at full load, so in theory your PSU should be ok and I believe that the relevant power cable adaptors should be in the box.
Run CPUID and it will show your RAM speed, DDR ram runs...
This all is dependent on the monitor you are pairing this rig with and the type of games you want to play. Are you just gaming with this rig or are you doing other intensive workloads with it? Have you placed the order? Budget? Could you also paste the link to the ordering page so the chaps and...
Do you know which PSU you have and what the max wattage it can handle? You might benefit from more memory too but be aware you are using DDR3 chips, what's the RAM speed? If your current system isnt an old PCS computer I'm not sure if we are allowed to discuss upgrades here
It might help if you say what sort of size you want/restrictions then. I must admit i thought you were after an "Ultrawide" monitor, @SpyderTracks the OP was looking at the LG Ultragear, odd name but meh.
Think that card is suited best for high end (high refresh rates) for HD 1080p
Info taken from @Scott awesome builders guide- https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/desktop-building-guide-sept-2020.67892/
Need to know the basics-
Budget, what monitor it's this being hooked up to, type of games you want to play.... yada yada
Wasting your money on the Intel, unless you want to go flight simming then you probably wont need 32gb of ram, 450W PSU is not giving you any capacity to upgrade further...
Sorry @HSBilling but you need your head reading, I dont mean any disrespect here but there are guys here with decades in the PC building scene, trying to stop you from wasting so much money on what will turn out to be a massive white elephant.
Will it look at chinsy and smart, you bet, but...
Unless you are planning on getting a new monitor within the next 6-12 months then you are better off putting a lower spec card in (the LG is 1080p) and then putting the money saved to one side and spend it later if/when you need to get the new monitor
Sorry yer PC has died mate, dont forget that working days (unless PCS has recently changed them), is Mon-Fri. Hopefully they'll get your machine back to you ASAP.
