I've never seen the original Planet of the Apes TV series, so i can't say,
I've seen, I believe the first 5 original movies 1964 - 1973, which i thought was ok, then the reboot in 2001, again was ok, then the re-reboot in 2011-2017 which i thought was a fantastic film trilogy, Rise / Dawn / War.
