Gotcha, thanks.
I clocked the secondary SSD, you taught me that when you spec'd my gaming PC at home.
Going to get this ordered now before I break up for Christmas.
Any last minute advice on m.2 brand?
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Noise is something that is somewhat important - is it just the Lafite chassis that suffers with this?
A final consideration would be that I may want to use Steam Remote Play if I'm working away. Would either of these Laptops be able to handle that?

Hello again,
I bought a gaming PC from PCS a couple of years ago, mainly due to solid community advice from everyone here on the forums.
I have been offered a laptop for my job; I have requested that I supply my own. My employers are not very tech savvy, and all existing hardware in the office...
Just OT but while you're here...
I saw a post from yourself somewhere quite a while ago but I haven't been able to find it again, in it you were talking about recommended graphics settings for games? Was there a website or piece of software that offered recommended settings for your particular...
It seems like the screen alignment is causing the issue. I raised the second monitor so the bottom of both screens are flush (even though that is not how they are in reality) and the black part has vanished. I will monitor it tomorrow but it sounds like this will have sorted it.
And yes...
Hi all,
Been enjoying my new PC and have been using it with no problems, however, I have a new phenomena which has started and it's very irritating.
The desktop background has a large black section on one monitor, see the picture attached. If you drag a box in there or drop a desktop icon in...
I had been running with all devices connected through their own dongle. I have now tried the opposite, with mouse & keyboard running through a shared dongle. I'm going to give it a little longer but it seems that this has cured the problem. Until I try and connect my headset later on, no...
Cables?! What cables?! @AgentCooper There's a cage attached under the desk to hold the surge protector. All the other wires etc are fastened up out of the way there too. I hate having wires all over the place.
I am using the dongle currently. I did try to connect the mouse using bluetooth as it has that functionality but I couldn't get the PC to find it. I wondered if the PC didn't support Bluetooth 4.0.
Either way, I just want it to work properly with the dongle.
Finally up and running!
If anyone has recommendations on where to source high quality images for desktop backgrounds, please advise.
Also, I'm having real problems with my keyboard and mouse (Corsair K57 RGB Wireless & Corsair Ironclaw RGB Wireless). The both work perfectly when I use them...
Good news!
The replacement GPU has done the trick. I have now got a stable Windows session with no crashing to black screen or other funky things going on with the display.
Of course my run of poor form continues, as our internet (we have a 4g connection due to living in the bum end of...
Two things of note here:
1. Yes, the cables are all standard. Always check they aren't the opposite way up 😜
2. Eat tea first, then play computers...
Thanks mate, sorry for being an eejit.
New GPU looks lovely in my machine but....
The PCIe cables (I think that's right? I guess they do power?) which came installed in my machine for the gigabyte card do not fit.
Presumably I have to remove the cover from the other side of the machine, remove the cables, then replace them with...
