PCSPECIALIST Startup Apps not loading on startup - possibly linked to monitor?

wow - ok I do appreciate the help and time you guys give out - and sorry for not responding immediately. Is having to help take care of my 3 year old on a bank holiday monday enough of a reason to not be glued to my computer?

PCSPECIALIST Startup Apps not loading on startup - possibly linked to monitor?

The programs are definitely not starting up, nothing in the system tray etc. Typically when windows boots up I'll get the icons showing up in the system tray, and any relevant windows popping up (e.g. discord opens up). In this case nothing loads up - it's almost as if something is...

PCSPECIALIST Startup Apps not loading on startup - possibly linked to monitor?

It's pretty much everything that is meant to load up when I start windows, except for the NVIDIA Settings and bluetooth, which looks like they open every time. windows defender, the PCS Control Centre, Dropbox, onedrive, discord etc - all those apps don't start up automatically, unless my...

PCSPECIALIST Startup Apps not loading on startup - possibly linked to monitor?

Hi all I am getting a strange bug, whereby my startup apps aren't fully loading up. It looks like it happens when I have my monitor (Gigabyte M34WQ) plugged in, in particular the USB connection for the KVM functionality. My laptop is plugged in via the USB C connection to the display port in...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop High Temperatures Monitoring

Thanks - I have to say since swapping the thermal paste for the kryosheets, even under heavy strain my laptop doesn't even come near the previous temperatures. I don't even fully turn up the cooling pad, opting to only run half the fans (nearest the air intakes).

    PCSPECIALIST HWMonitor BSOD crashes?

I completely missed the link! Think I read that post on my phone on the tube - I will post the dump file next time I can replicate the BSOD - thank you!

    PCSPECIALIST HWMonitor BSOD crashes?

all good advice thanks - I will give it a go. It certainly wasn't happening before I think there were 2 driver updates in relatively quick succession from nvidia so hopefully that's the cause.

    PCSPECIALIST HWMonitor BSOD crashes?

You are right sorry - the GPU hits maximum temps of around 74dC and hot spot around 82dC note: i edited OP for clarity

    PCSPECIALIST HWMonitor BSOD crashes?

I have recently replaced the thermal paste with kryosheets, and the laptop temps have been fantastic - never above 90dC for the CPU and 75dC for GPU [edited]. It could be a driver issue, I suppose I can try rolling back the nvidia driver to the previous one. I did recently update the drivers...

    PCSPECIALIST HWMonitor BSOD crashes?

I have noticed that when I have HWMonitor running, I occasionally get a BSOD crash quoting a nvlddmkm.sys problem. Does this happen to anyone else? It appears to be sporadic, sometimes it happens the moment I close the program other times when it is running.

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop High Temperatures Monitoring

Hi all I have finally managed to get some time this weekend to install the kryosheets. Firstly, as someone who has never done anything beyond taking off the back plate and dusting the laptop, I was absolutely kacking myself. I started by unplugging the two cables connected to the battery...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop High Temperatures Monitoring

Ok thanks all, will order and sounds like a weekend job! Just to confirm then I can buy the larger one and just cut it to size for the dies on the GPU and CPU, correct? Noting from the description that it is conductive so presumably need to be extra careful when putting it in...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop High Temperatures Monitoring

I have just run the Furmark test again out of curiosity, and again GPU temp settles around 76dC...just wondering, as the CPU and GPU are effectively sharing a cooling system, could it be the CPU temp (90+ dC) that is actually causing the GPU to get hotter than it would normally when playing an...

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop High Temperatures Monitoring

So this is the temp after 1 hour of playing starfield - as before. hit peaks of 87dC on the GPU this time. Any thoughts?
