Has Anyone Ever Had Their PC Specialist Order Be Misdelivered?

Apparently it hasn't been delivered despite the courier confirming it as such, it is sitting in a warehouse somewhere and I should get it in the next couple of days.
Phew!! Great news! It sounds like a really nice set up you will end up with - enjoy it when you get it and don't let the worry of the last few days get in the way.

And also - don't forget to post your set up HERE aftewards!!

No idea how the scan them back in and their system doesn’t trigger, to attempt to reorder delivery. Only DPD and their off shoots appear to have this issue.

Seems that a driver scanned it as delivered but meant to scan for return to a warehouse to attempt deliver next day (as no one at the address, or house not found)

It would have been scanned back into the depot - that should override the ‘delivered’ as the system will realise it’s not possible.

Also to put through the ‘delivered’ they would of had to prove delivery, with a signature or picture (unless pcs doesn’t request this, which i find absolute highly unlikely). They can only do this on purpose as far as i see. They would have left a card for failed delivery (i would assume, however i have never dealt with palletways or whatever they are called).

@Syze - if you can, log into the ticket with the delivery company and make sure it is updated with instructions on how to find your house and even a phone number that the driver can call you on - to hopefully avoid the driver claiming he cannot find you again :D

Wouldnt be able to leave a card if they claim they failed to find the property.

In normal situation maybe, but I think delivery companies are overloaded and these kind of security measures may have not worked or have been missed in this instance.

I don't know how is in the UK, but in Ireland couriers don't leave any notes if delivery missed - we sometimes get, sometimes don't get a message about this. Customers need to chase or wait until it gets noticed in a warehouse and gets resolved by themselves. Couriers are really not so well organised as they could be - it's not Germany or Japan after all - only they have meticulous and world class attention to details and service standards as culturally they follow rules and procedures as a daily routine at work and every day life.

I was under the impression they had claimed delivery

So I was just saying if it was 'house not found' then they wouldnt be able to leave a card :D

The UK system is a lot better than Irelands, i have experienced it myself multiple times whilst working there.

The driver will have been running late and claimed a number of deliveries were completed and used the surnames to sign for them. Then scanned them back into the depot, where they will sit.

A good courier company, would keep a track of this, their system would automatically book them back in and the item would simple be sent out for delivery the next day.

DPD somehow have a system, that doesn’t do this and they don’t address the issue, that their drivers do this.

Ah yes, but when they scan for delivered, it will ask them to provide proof of delivery. Which would normally be a signature or so.

A lot of them fudge these and just sign for the owner, but i can’t see how they can click the wrong thing.

I’ve had this issue multiple times with DPD and no one else, why i hate using them. I’d much rather see UPS as my courier 🤣

Don't know if DPD in the UK are sole traders but in Ireland they are - anyone can be DPD. They get paid for hours, they use their own (or company's branded if they don't have their own) vans etc... It's like franchise but I doubt it's a real franchise - more like Uber or something... I think they also have their own employees, directly with DPD to, but I may be wrong. I definitely know that DPD has lots of sole traders. The problem that there's so many old school drivers who are using the systems wrong and that's how human error occur. That's very unfortunate and DPD or any delivery company should pay more attention to training and educating employees (ideally). But if there's a need to keep prices low (DPD in Ireland are competitive regarding charges for B2B) and also a drivers' constant turn around (due to long and unfavourable hours), then I guess all the training and quality can be a real challenge.

I believe they have a strange model of a proper courier business, franchises and sole traders. I think they are paid on each parcel delivered.

But their physical computer system appears to fail. The scanners and systems all talk to each other, so the system knew that computer had gone out for delivery and had then updated the tracking and would sent out emails etc. When it was scanned back in, it should have updated for that and reallocated a delivery slot (these sorts of things are automated).

So either their system doesn’t do that (highly unlikely), they don’t use it properly (most likely) or third option being the worst... it is absolute carnage in their depots.

Or all the scenarios at the same time :ROFLMAO:

To be honest, i think 3 is the most likely, from my dealings with them lol.

My local hermes driver has been the same for 5 years, no issues. Royal mail... same again. Ups... same again. DPD, think i’ve had 5 drivers in 2021 for my home.

Still haven't got it, I'm told one day they can't find it, the next it's in a warehouse, I get told someone will call me and no one does. Then last night I got a call telling me I would get it today and the delivery driver would call me to confirm. Today I was told definitely tomorrow. Absolute shambles.

“April Fool”.
