Hello there Spyder.

How do you mean by configure, the OS came preinstalled.

Will it ask me for my Windows 10 licence/code?

As I don't beelive I have recieved this as it came pre-installed.

Will option 2 make the need for the code reduntant as it has been installed before?

It’s baked into the BIOS. Will auto register when you’re on the internet.

If you logged into the machine with a Microsoft account, then you’ll need to use that same account.

When it comes to installing drivers, just run windows update repeatedly until there are none left, then install your gpu drivers direct from nvidia / AMD.

Then post back and we’ll check everything is ready to install what you want.
It’s important to get windows setup correctly firstly before installing other software.

Thank you, reinstalling will not void my warranty?

This is my first day with the machine so I want as little drama as possible haha!

So I need to do the following:

1. reinstall windows
2. Update windows
3. Download NVIDIA drivers?

I fixed the issue by doing a system restore.

This was to a point prior to me deleting Bullguard. This time around I ensured everything was updated before removing bullguard and created another restore point beforehand.

Following this I deleted and all seems to be working! I have CMD and Powershells back. Thank you for your suggestions.

A clean install is still a good option.
That way you know theres no hidden leftovers from bullguard.

Its not going to take long to do and it would be better now to clean start and know you have a stable/uncomprimised start point rather than load everything onto it and something crawl out the woodwork later.

Well, I've just discovered the root cause I think.

I just installed remote desktop software Citrix Workspace App:

As soon as I installed this I got an error stating some CFA Flag error (whatever that is) following this I could not use CMD or Powershell.

Once I uninstalled the software I had access to CMD and Powershell again.

Any idea why this app would cause this issue?

You said previously you hadn't installed any other software?

Can you post the link for the file you're downloading?

Indeed, that was an oversight on my part. I did have this installed as I need it for remote working.

Link provided in my last reply, let me know if you need anything else.

Same issue applied sadly, the issue is with the Citrix application itself it seems.

I've settled for an older verison for now and reached out to them. Everything else works perfectly.
