now that i have a new computer to play my games on, i had to decide what to do with my old PCS computer. in the end i turned it into a basic NAS/plex server. it's working fine apart from the cooling fans.
they never seem to change speed, no matter what the settings are in the BIOS. this is both the CPU(standard intel fan) and the chassis fan. PWM is turned on. i did experiment with turning the PWM off but it didn't make any difference. admittedly the CPU is hardly getting a workout as being a NAS/plex server is not that demanding so i'm not to worried about it but it would be nice to at least turn the fans down to the bare mininium speed possible.
any ideas?? no problem if you can't help
