Windows 10 key

I am due a reinstall of the system. Can i just copy the product ID from the computer about page for when im asked for the windows key to verify that I have a legal licence of windows 10? If not, where can I find the windows 10 key? Or is it now tied to my email address that is connected to the OS?

Windows 10 doesn't need a key anymore, it stored the key in the pc firmware of the bios so will auto register when it next hits the Internet.
