On the specification to make sure it all works out well... it only takes up 438W so the PSU is fune. and the storage is perfectly fine for me because i don't need more. What do you mean by screen?

You don’t configure the PSU to your current needs otherwise you can’t upgrade in the future.

I would strongly recommend you listen to advice, these guys know what they’re talking about.

When they’re referring to a screen they mean monitor, you need to pair the gpu with the monitor.

Well if it take up roughly 438W of power and its a 550W that leaves room for upgrades in the future. and monitor, i dont know, I think its some MSI one, 1080x1920p and 144hz

if you think of a power supply having a band where it is the most efficient - power, heat and how much of your house electric it uses.

what you want is it sitting around 50% for majority of time, with occasional ramping to 80%.

That is it working efficiently.


when you under spec the PSU you are forcing it to operate at a higher level all time and the ramping may hit 90% and worst cases will hit 100%.

real world impact is you pay more cash on your electric bill, you run the PSU hotter with fan always on, shortens life of the part.

Also as mentioned by @SpyderTracks you then are kinda stuck for any future upgrades and need to replace PSU at same time as gtx card.


with actual PSU’s you also then have the Gold, Silver Platinum levels and if modular or not.

for me I will as a minimum always go Gold Modular.

my 10 yr old PSU was Corsair 650w and is currently fitted to a mates pc (kids homework pc)

Also where possible go for a Gold PSU.

this means a 750w Gold PSU
