Hmm but some of us need mobility, we cant be seen lugging around a desktop with us were ever we go :sweatdrop:, me i live in the west midlands, my mum lives in Manchester, an my in-laws in Nottingham, now i have a lot of traveling to do believe me, i am on the road every other weekend, this kind of fits in there perfectly, you see what i mean lol :walkman:

just wondering if anyone has received their W230 from PCSpecialist yet, as its stated on the website it wont ship until the 8th of august, is that even for the ppl who ordered fast track 3 an 5 day builds,

You wouldn't be able to order it on fast track currently if it is not available til the 8th, in the same way you can't fast track if something is out of stock at the time.

PC Specialist, why does it take so long to complete an order, it was processing the order for week, now it has been in pre-production for a week, first it said laptop will ship on 8th of August now it is saying it is gona ship on the 20th, i mean what is going on here, i ordered on the 24th july, was expecting the order to fulfilled by now, please explain the delay.
Is this on a preorder or somthing because i remember one of your staff saying they dont do preorder, if there are in shop then why is it taking so long.

I suspect (though I don't work at PCS so don't actually know) they allow you to order things once they have them on order with their suppliers and once they have a date for them, so I'm guessing their suppliers originally told them they would be in on the 8th, but I'm guessing the suppliers have moved the date back and PCS won't be able to do a thing about it.
Again I don't work for PCS so this is pure speculation on my part, and as steaky360 says your best bet is to give PCS a call to find out what is causing the delay.

Calling them is an option but i remember when i had a problem with my W110ER, i made about 3 calls to them, thinking it is not premium number but when my bill came i was charged around £25 for those calls, so calling them costs an arm an a leg :sailor:

In the same boat as you. I ordered it around the same time, except then it didn't mention anything about 8th August or 20th August.
I've been checking my order most days to see if the status has changed. Only on the offchance I happened to look at the product page for the machine, where I saw it had red text saying it wasn't going to be shipping until 20th August.
That wasn't there when I had originally ordered the machine, or had there been a mention that it was a pre-order at the time. I would have probably cancelled it or delayed ordering if I had known in advance.
At this stage I may as well wait.

, i think it was the 1st or the 2nd of august it said 8th in the red writing, i was getting well happy that i will have it in a week but then it changed to the 20th, so i thought maybe that's just for new orders, not ones placed in July, now i wish i had payed the extra £39 to get it fast tracked to me, but i guess even then they would have delayed with some excuse...On a side note i did email them an they replied saying that they are swamped with orders an are having a hard time fulfilling them in time, and mine should be dispatched in 2-4 working days, if they are having trouble fulfilling orders in the 5 working days in a week they should work on Saturdays so they can fulfill them on time and keep the customers happy an keep to their 9-11 day time frame stated on the product page.
Hope you an i both have our little beasts soon

I'm in no huge rush for mine at the moment, I still have another laptop to work off of in the meantime and I fully understand PCS are dealing with a higher demand in orders this month over previous years so they have a larger backlog to work against.
Hopefully it will enter the building phase within the next 5 working days and ship on or before the 20th.
