What Do You Keep Your Games In?

Right now all of my games and DVDs etc are in my cupboard.

I want to get a big bookcase, but one which is made for games and things of DVD size really.

Then I can have it behind my chair so if I ever do online reviews or whatever it can look authentic with a mass of games behind me xD

But really I want them on display instead of being locked up in my cupboard.

So I'd like links to some bookcases, or wooden structures for holding DVDs and games which you have and are useful to you, I see them all advertised with pictures and CDs and can't 100% picture what they would look like with games or whether there would be extra room and whether the games would be a good fit etc.

All the ones I have found are cheap and rubbish or extremely expensive! Would anybody even recommend building their own? if so, which wood?

depends on what you would do if you were going to paint it then MDF is your best bet but you need to use masks when cutting drilling it as its very bad for your chest if you wanted a wooden look then pine is probably the best as its strong yet cheap. personally i keep my games on steam :D

DVDs - Large shelving unit (filled with other bits and bobs too...not a hoarder, not a hoarder, not a...)

Games - Stored in a handy kettle-based-energy-transfer-medium.

When I move, I think i'll just get one long shelf and put it on the longest wall and line all the DVDs up (in alphabetical order ofc) :D

When I get a room just for gaming, I'll be doing this for all of my games.

haha interesting posts guys!

I need a unit to store over 350 items so DeadEye, if you have less than that, don't worry you can still be saved ;)

and everything of mine was alphabetised at one point xD

I'm planning on having one shelf dedicated top my 50 Kung Fu/ Martial arts DVDs and have some art of colour it red and have martial arts posters near it.

Then of course, The Dark Corner, or the occult shelf if my collection of horror films and games grows that large :p

Then, The Blue Corner, dedicated to my BBC nature documentary box sets.

Yes I am a very sad person.

I have about 70 DVD's on my shelf above my bed (So if the shelf collapses, i'll be crushed and probably die) and then i have my pc games in a small cubby-hole on my desk :)

That's pretty awesome! I one day hope to have a gaming room with every game for every console ever made, if I get madly rich this will be possible

Maybe have a massive basement, one area is a museum, the other part is an arcade.

i should stop giving away my ideas over message boards
