What are your top 10 pc games?

Argh. This could be nearly impossible - I've played so many games over the years (been gaming for 20 years now!) I just KNOW I'm going to forget a few games. Either way, here's the games that have taken most of my life.

1. Quake
2. Carmageddon
3. Black & White
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Championship Manager 01/02
6. Command & Conquer: Red Alert
7. Baldur's Gate 2
8. Left 4 Dead
9. Civilization IV
10. Unreal Tournament

Man, I could have just gone on and on and on with that list... so many great games. I'm just glad I was limited to PC-only, or I'd have never narrowed it down. :p

Wow, Legend of Mir is ancient now :D I wouldn't have expected it to have been listed, I've never played it myself but I remember there used to be a channel on sky that I watched when I was probably about the age of 7 that was just for games and gaming news, quite often the presenters of it would bring it up and even be playing it throughout the air time, looked like a good game at the time but for some reason I never did get it. I'm certain there was another game they mentioned a lot too that was similar, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Great games here - thought I'd throw in some honourable mentions for classics: Dune 2, X-Com, Monkey Island, Master of Orion 2, Total Annihilation, EverQuest (before WoW launched and everyone left!), Settlers 2 (and the other Settlers games, but 2 was awesome at the time).

Yeah, X-Com came very close to making my list, as did Fallout, but I missed both of those the first time round and came back to them years later when a lot of the elements that they pioneered had been around and used by other games, so they didn't have as big an influence on my game-playing as they might have done if I'd got to them when they launched.

Total Annihilation was amazing though, completely forgot about that!

Myth of soma?

That does sound familliar but I think it may have been something else, but you could be right.

And I agree with Monkey island (I only played 3 and 4 and a demo of the 5th) and Carmaggedon being great games, especially for the time they were released. Oh and command and conquer like mentioned earlier was great for forgetting reliant for a while! Though I couldn't bring myself to play it now.

I could be wrong, LffPicard, but I suspect Scotch may have meant it was the first MMO they owned, maybe.

Crash Bandicoot, Soul Reaver, Sonic and Final Fantasy = all games that shaped the gaming world in a good way IMO!

I loved sonic at a very young age on the Sega and later got it for the Dreamcast, the one with Shadow and a few other characters that weren't apart of the originals where it's geared toward the chaos emeralds and Sonic/shadow have 'super' forms later in the game. I liked how you could choose the good story to follow or the villains.

Another one I played on dream cast and the first one I had ever played of this game was Rayman 2, took me a long time to complete and I found it taking up a lot of my time.

I've not heard of the one you mentioned and haven't played 1, 4, or 7. As for the rest I only got little tastes of and I'm not much in to racing games usually. (I'm terrible at them, haha.)

Well, it was meant to be PC games only, and I never played the PC version properly.
But as we are going to other platforms, there is only one best game ever.

Final Fantasy VII

I was talking about old PC games last night, really old and one of them that was brought up was Toy Story 2 lol. But then we were reminded of a game called LBA2 (Little big adventures 2) did anyone else ever play this? I thought it was an amazing game, took forever to complete and when I got to the end I wished there was more and end up starting it again, more than once. :D

Also Pandemonium 2 too, ah game nostalgia.

.. as you can see I prefer older games.. Not because I'm old.. it's because modern games are giving me max 10-20 hours of fun (and I'm either bored or game is completed). Old games I spent months playing them, and I was not bored. Go figure...

People don't give credit to Dragon Age 1, it's an amazing game and the companion system is AMAZING. The game basically forces you to get to know your companions, making you decide decisions depending on what they want and not you. I havn't felt a game being as real as I have with Dragon age.
