below is my current which I know is not great but was hoping to upgrade my graphics card to be able to run cyberpunk at a decent frame rate, the only thing that has changed is the RAM which is now 32gb DDR4 3200MHz. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Decent frame rate at what resolution & settings. Also what monitor are you using with this?

A £1700 RTX3090 will probably get you 40FPS in 4k on Ultra with Full Ray Tracing, whereas a £600 RTX3070 will probably get you 60FPS in 1440p on High with low to medium ray tracing. 1080p will probably be bottlenecked by the CPU, not the GPU.

This is all assuming your CPU doesn't cause any bottlenecks...and your PSU is beefy enough.

my current TV is only 1080p which is what i'm using for everything, so anything over that would be a waste was looking at the 6GB GEFORCE RTX 2060 which is around my budget.

power supply is power supply is 450W VS series, so i guess that would need to be upgraded aswell. guess i could wait until after christmas for the sales. thanks for your reply Tonycarter

Your PSU is fine for a standard 2060. @ 1080 with a 2060 you'll max 60FPS, assuming that is the refresh rate of you monitor, depending on ray tracing, but if your FPS is low, just reduce or turn off ray tracing.

I was running a 450W VS for a 2060 Super OC, before I upgraded to a TX650M to cater for the increased cooling needed and overall better efficiency.

What’s your full PCS build, as it’s often best to review Things such as cooling, case.

Also you need to look at load times etc and overall capacity of storage.

I think you are hitting the rule of diminishing returns.

Also adding a 2060 / 3050 and 750 PSU, will be loading your CPU when playing Cyberpunk, which in turn means more internal heat for the cpu fan and case fans to handle.

I would also look at updating your storage, working off your OS being on the M.2, price up an SSD upgrade for gaming, load times are better with SSD than hdd.

so basically just upgrading the GPU is not an option?

It is but personally you are just moving the pain.

A lot depends on your budget and how much you want to put up with replacing parts.

for example, you could fit a 3060, a modular 750 PSU, then at later date an upgrade to fitting a games specific SSD.

the GFX card and SSD (assuming no future problems) could be moved to any future build, so you get some ROI.

yes 3060 is overkill but it does mean when you upgrade to 1440p, you are covered.

alternatively 3050 but stick to 1080p only.

it’s always a hard one updating or replacing a system, both a correct answers but depending on personal circumstances, one of them is the better answer.

My view of the world for decisions like this is that you have a 1080/60hz and want to play cyberpunk. So maybe don't overcomplicate it - get the 2060, play it and stretch your PC. It's not an antique, it will cope and you will have a great time.
In 18months or when the next big game comes out you want then you might have to rethink, but just think what you could buy then with the same money plus savings..!
If your happy with your current monitor then just push that PC and get your money's worth 😁

I was watching the Gamers Nexus benchmarking videos for Cyberpunk earlier out of general interest.
My conclusion would be that with your 2600 CPU and adding a rtx2060 you are just about ok for getting 60fps on 1080p at medium/high settings. Have a look, looks like they would be a good min spec for a good gaming experience on Cyberpunk, it's what made me think o mf this thread while watching it. (I'm going to bed so no time to link them :) )!

was thinking last night that the other option for just one game is to use Stadia, as i have seen a lot of people saying that they have had a good experience playing the game on this platform. i have a top tier virgin broadband so it will stream just fine. might look into this option as i can save more money for a better upgrade or a PS5 when they come available as i'm mostly a console gamer.

I’d suggest nvidia GeForce Now over Stadia, it’s a vastly superior service.

My old pc i5 6600k + gtx 1080ti runs it at over 60 fps on ultra settings in most areas. The 1080ti imo still one of the best cards out there
