It will take longer to boot up and load applications you would've put on the SSD, but nothing other than that. I had a 7200rpm drive in my laptop at first and then added an SSD later on

I see,,, well my desktop has a 7200rpm HDD and it's not really that slow to boot up, about 1 min? which is really fine for me.
Would there be a BIG difference between an SSD and an HDD?

There is a big difference in boot times, but it's easy to add one later so I wouldn't worry about it too much

Laptops generally have good battery life now so you can settle for sleep mode (Usually on be default by just closing the laptop) This will prevent too much booting required so will help.
It will just be applications will be a little slower, nothing major so if cutting that makes the difference in price for you then go for it.
