Vortex ST-S i7 9700 - RTX 2070 Super - Really poor performance

Machine arrived today, eagerly downloaded Mechwarrior 5 from Xbox for PC.

At 1080p with Gforce recommended settings, I am getting 42 fps and massive drops. Others with similar hardware are getting 120+!

Any idea what might be wrong?

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? As I am guessing you've bought the system from Currys PC World so the drivers will be a tad out of date due to when it was shipped to them and the amount of drivers released for NVIDIA cards recently.

I would try disabling the auto setting adjustment in GeForce experience if you’ve got that enabled. It tends to not be particularly effective and over compensates.

Also you need to make sure Ray Tracing and DLSS are disabled initially.

DLSS is where it upscale the picture to a higher resolution to increase fidelity, but comes at a massive performance hit.

Ray Tracing is enhanced shadows and lighting but in its current instance again it takes a huge performance hit.

Either in game or in nvidia control panel.

Turned off in game and get about 80fps at 1080, which is still a bit below I expected based off of others 1440p results

There are some benchmarks in that article. The RTX 2070 Super would be a bit ahead of the RX5700

Thanks for the help on this, I deleted the driver and reinstalled and everything started working as expected.

Now I just need to work out how to get the RGB lights working as they're currently stuck blue and I can't find how to change them

I believe that the lights are blue, rather than RGB.
