Mate, absolute pleasure. I guess as a plus side at least it was a relatively simple fix and it didn’t have to go back.

When you get the urge to do so, it’s worth going through some thermal checks to make sure it’s running optimally for a good long period.

Ok finally some good news. The laptop seems to be running much cooler than it used to.
The maximum temps were from playing GTA V both the CPU and GPU averaged low 80's when playing with the odd spike to 91 for the CPU.

You literally cannot write this but now i have had time to test the laptop properly today i have discovered another problem with it.
Every now and then for a second a black line appears the length of the screen. It seems to be really sporadic and i haven't worked out if its being caused by something specific so cant replicate it.

At first i thought i had imagined it but now i have noticed it its really annoying and obvious when it happens.
I suspect this is going to be yet another RMA.

It happend with both.

I ended up wiping the system and reinstalling the OS and it remedied the issue.

"I gave your system a check over to make sure everything was working correctly, once I was satisfied that this was the case I loaded a series of stress tests onto the system and left them running overnight. I checked your system again this morning and it had passed the tests without issue. It was then cross-checked by a second technician to confirm my results. I am satisfied that your system is running normally again and it can be returned to you. "

The report i recieved form PCS contained this quote. I am frankly shocked that after being inspected by two technicians they sent the laptop back to me with a disconnected NIC and an operating system which was chugging.

I have written an email of complaint to them detailing my long sordid history with thier products and services and i have requested a refund for my RMA and an extension on the warranty for this laptop.

I don think thats unreasonable.
