I’m after some advice for a desktop computer able to take some heavy video editing. Mainly working on Premiere Pro, often 4K.

What do you think of the following configuration?

I tried to play with the configurator, but not sure what the best cpu/motherboard/graphic card combo would be…any advice on that?

I wanted to stay between 2.5-3k as budget, but seems hard.
Where do you think I could shred some £££ from the configuration below?

COOLERMASTER MASTERBOX TD500 MESH ARGB GAMING CASE A place I've made a saving on is the case- I assume the initial choice was to go specifically for a quiet case, while this isn't designed to be a quiet case, I've used the fans that come provided with this case and they have been nice and quiet. Going for a high airflow case will also help with temps!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and for all the info!

I have a few more questions.

I am moving from Mac, so this is a whole new system to me.

Moving primarily because Premiere and new Mac systems don’t seem to work well together. Basically the software doesn’t run smooth at all (despite currently having a 64 RAM machine)



My main concern moving to a Window machine is that I often work on clients drives. These are sometimes formatted for Mac and loaded with heavy 4k projects.



I know you can read/write Mac formatted drives on Windows with specific softwares, BUT would this affect the performance of the drive?



Because if this is the case, the whole point of working on a powerful Windows machine would be pointless.



Also because I am moving to this new system I might need home installation I guess?



Last question: To read drives in the best way do you suggest adding some usb c ports?
