Very Uneven CPU temperatures on new Proteus VII

Hi, I purchased the Proteus VII laptop (RTX 2060 & i7-9750) and am loving it so far! However I have noticed that the CPU cores vary drastically in temperature (Up to 20 degrees!) and as a result my Average CPU temp is higher than i would like:

For a temporary fix for these high temps, i have reduced the 6-core turbo limit from 3.8Ghz to 3.3Ghz but this temperature difference still exists. After some research online I heard that a possible cause of this is the uneven application of thermal paste? Is this likely and if so would PC specialist reapply this? I'm reluctant to reapply past myself in case I cause any damages or void my warranty. (I also already payed extra for the arctic cooling paste, but i don't know if its having much of an effect)

it's certainly a possibility. If it's always the same cores that are higher than others, then that would suggest a paste issue.

I wouldn't reduce the turbo-limit, that's not a fix, that's nerfing the processor needlessly to address a different issue.

Are you sure it's the same cores that are always higher temperature?

Monitor this closely for next few days.

If it is the same core as mentioned above, re-apply the paste.
Or send it back if you don't feel comfortable doing that yourself.

I've run two benchmarks: Throttle Stop (top image) and Cine-bench (bottom image) and monitored the temps using HWinfo. Here are my results:

Both times it seems Core 0, 2 and 4 (even numbers) are way hotter. This makes me think that the pressure of the heat sinks may be uneven (one side of the CPU dissipates heat better?)

Would opening my laptop and re screwing the heat-sink void my Silver warranty?
If the re-screwing has no effect then ill send the laptop to get re-pasted.

Thanks,

There is a few possiblities what could be wrong.
The most likely one is the paste not being applied sufficiently and/or heatskin causing this as it moved during transport.

Deffinetly shouldn't be seeing those temps on a non overclocked CPU.
Are you aware what cooler you are running?

Not sure what you mean by a cooler? It's a laptop which has the arctic thermal paste applied.

What you said about temps isnt encouraging to hear 😬. Are those temps bad even for a stress test?

My bad. I have misread this as a Desktop PC.
Depends really what software you are using to stress test. Prime95 tends to do that to CPU's.
I would still get in touch with PCS & see what they say.
In my eyes the difference between the cores is very worrying.

Ok thanks, I assumed this forum is how I get in touch with pc specialist?

If you go to your order I think there is a button to contact support there. They will know what system it is & all details who put it together etc.
