My friend had told me recently that apparently the Nazis are responsible for putting the US on the moon. Is there any evidence of this? I have know idea where to look and suspect he is making it up.
Kind of an odd thing to ask but seeing as this forum has such fast replies I figured I should ask :)

I watched something on it a couple of nights ago, wouldn't be surprised if your mate watched it to.

Long story short, yes they were probably responsible for getting the USA to the moon first. Basically because they were moved to the USA and employed to make sure 'merica had the best rockets.

At first they were strictly employed to make missiles for the Americans to fire at Russia, but later it progress into putting men on the tips of missiles rather than bombs to beat Russia to the moon.

Another friend told me that al qaeda formed because the US gave them the money to do so. I have no idea. Anyone have any info on that? :) He also said that the US has tried to stage terror attacks before.
Sorry if I'm entering tinfoil hat territory :p

al Qaeda is the remnants of a group funded by the USA to fight the Russians. The west has been selling/giving weapons and backing to groups that suit it for a long time.

As far as the USA committing terrorist acts on its own people, who knows, they certainly wanted to in the past. It's a dirty business being in power, just look at the Edward snowden leaks...

Technically that would mean German scientists helped put the US on the moon first.

No sane person blindly believes the government, always question the official versions. Regarding Al-Qaeda, how else would you justify full-scale military invasions into several sovereign nations and then their occupation for over a decade?

Putting the politics aside and regarding the original topic.

Yes, in a sense it is true that the Nazi's were integral to putting America on the moon. At the end of World War II we came to realize that Hitler's regime had been years ahead in technology when it came to rockets and even the fuels used for them, this research confiscated form them and the fact that many of the German scientists were given amnesty on the condition they worked for the US and other allied countries was an important step towards developing the technology that was used to put us into space and on the moon.

Something I always wondered (I'm not trying to question you or anyone here it's just general observation of how people view political discussion), when does politics become history? For example we can't talk about a terrorist group being funded by a country in recent years because it is politics, yet we (I don't mean just us here, but any community) can freely discuss the ramifications of a dictatorial regime during a war 75 years ago and call it history, yet the contents are almost identical subjects just years apart and using different terminology. It always baffled me that.

I think it will often come down to ambiguity of information and fact. No one is going to come on here and have a heated debate about the Nazis. However, in the example you give, topics surrounding recent US (CIA) policy is not going to be so black and white.

And that never leads to a good discussion on anonymous boards :)
