Is there any more info regarding the original problem in the OP? Doing my head in not bein gable to sync anything to my phone or ipad as they disconnect and reconnect every 5 seconds when connected to either USB3 port or the USB2 one on my Vortex IV, despite connecting without a problem to any machine not from PCS

Could just be apple being the dicks they are and not letting anything other than stuff they get cash from working with their products. But yes I noticed this problem with my laptop when I got my first iphone. Thought it was my dodgey USB ports though... I guess not.

Not sure if I should be making a new post but I'm bumping this instead. Been very busy this year so hardly had the laptop on; now I'm using it again and this is driving me absolutely insane. USB ports connect fine to mouse/memory drive/controller etc but if anthing connected is drawing power (confirmed not apple product spefic, same problem with Galaxy s4) it connects/disconnects constantly

Hi there! I am having exactly the same issue - iphone constantly get connected/disconnected like every second. I tried to switch off wi-fi and bluetooth as suggested above, it doesn't help. Even more, i tried the solution with self-powered USB hub, it also behaved the same as iphone - constantly connected/disconnected. I guess it is more than just USB power issue, might be motherboard must be replaced. 've been struggling with this for months already

Are you plugging it into a laptop or pc? Usb 3 or 2? Try plugging it into the rear ports on your pc or a dedicated powered usb port if on a laptop.

Yes, i tried all UBS port: 2.0 and 3.0 and 3.0 powered. I am using laptop bought from pcspecialist "Clevo p15sm". I think it had windows 7 when it shipped and i think iphone connection worked fine at that moment. Issue started with win 8.1. I am going to install win7 back on it and will check if that helps.

I don't know if this will work. But try:

Control Panel> Power Options> Change plan settings> Change Advanced Power settings> USB Settings> USB selective suspend setting and change that to see if it makes any difference.

Long shot...
