USB 3.1

I have a new silent mini PC. I have been struggling with bluetooth connectivity for a logitech mouse (actually three different ones) and keyboard. The range is around 10 feet and a laptop recognises them fine.. At the moment, my PC struggles to pick up a signal then loses it regularly. Does it need to face in a different direction or can I do anything else?

My new silent mini PC has an Asus ® H310T R2.0: (Mini-ITX, DDR4, USB 3.1, 6Gb/s) motherboard with MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS according to the spec. I can see two blue USB 3.1 ports on the back. Are any of the four on the front USB 3.1?

Could I double check with you that you have screwed the Antenna/Aerials into the back of the system for the Wifi? As far as I am aware these builds should have separate Antennas/Aerials that will need screwing onto the gold contact screws

I haven't but can't see any antenna in the pack that came with the PC
Could you take a picture of the back of your PC and someone might be able to guide you further?

Failing that I can double check on Monday if they should be present.

Hope this helps. Wireless connection from my hub/router seems fine, if that is relevant.

Normally Logitech mice and keyboards come with a USB dongle to create the connection, have you plugged that into the PC and installed drivers?

The BSOD Doctor
I have just received a call from PCSpecialist. They confirm that they neglected to put the antennae into the package and that is the reason for the issue.

By Tuesday, everything should have been sorted out.

Thanks for all of your help.
Doh! 😲

Just came across this thread and I've been having major bluetooth connectivity issues as well and I've got this same build.

I've wasted bloody hours with this bluetooth issue in the past 3-4 months and never even knew there was meant to be an antennae included!

Just double checked the box it came in and then is no antennae in there! :(

You'd need to contact PCS. Should be in the welcome pack

Hi. Sorry to hear that you have the same problem on something so basic. The good news is that if anyone is working at PCSpecialist at the moment, the antennae are easy to fit and fix the problem immediately. Good luck.

If not, then you could try basic aerial fixes as a short term measure. If you point the connections direvctly towards the USB that helps a little. Something like wire or a coat hanger may also improve the signal?

I really wouldn't recommend trying to force a coat hanger into the hole that is for the antenna. That is incredibly bad advice - the size difference is likely to cause damage to the connector and there's zero point in wrapping a wire round just the threads.

If you really can't wait for PCS to sort out, the good news is that the connectors all tend to be a universal thread and type, so you could always order some (one example - just first in a search) is here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amplifier-Adapter-Reception-Omni-directional-Wireless-SMA-BL/dp/B07KHVG8Q8

Alternatively if you have an old router hanging around that uses the same type you could try using them.

You won't necessarily get the top performance but it'd be better than you currently get

PCS are still operating as normal, give them a call first.

I tried calling them when you replied to my post above earlier today but I waited quite a while and there was no answer so I messaged them through my account on their website (not this forum but their main website under the Tech Support section) so just waiting to hear back from them.
