PCS bought from Curry's in March 2020.
Spec: Tornado R3i Gaming PC
AMD Ryzen 3
GTX 1650
1 TB HDD
120 GNB SSD
Firstly just to add that this machine didn't work when we first received it, and turned out to have two faults. One was a faulty graphics card, which was replaced by PCS (though a slightly different model - it went from having 2 HDMI ports to only 1, but I was just happy to have it, at the beginning of the first lockdown).
Secondly because of the lack of graphics when it first switched on, the Windows installation on the SSD was corrupted, and no amount of changing the boot order would enable the machine to boot windows. So I manually disconnect the SSD and reinstalled Windows on the HDD. It booted fine from there, and has been running ever since. As this is used by my 11 year old, who is autistic, and a very avid gamer, I never got around to sorting the SSD issue (I intended to reformat it and reinstall again). In fact I never managed to remove it from the tower as it seems to be hidden away at the bottom!
Anyway this has been running well for the last 17 months now, but today when we switched it on, no signal was being received by the monitor. The fans are all running. The motherboard didn't beep on startup (I am not sure if it normally does).
I have tried the following:
Checked HDMI lead at both monitor and PC ends - both correctly fitted
Changed to new HDMI lead - nothing
Tried different monitor (TV) - no difference
Tried removing graphics card and using on board graphics instead - still nothing
Checked RAM is securely attached to motherboard
Checked all connections on motherboard - all appear secure
Removed battery to attempt to reset BIOS in case this was the issue.
Removed keyboard and mouse in case they were causing an issue
There are no beep codes, in fact it doesn't beep at all.
There are some lights on the motherboard and all fans are running.
Please does anyone have any ideas what else I can try? My child is distraught as they use this for communicating with friends and as a way to regulate too. I'm trying to avoid having to send it anywhere, as it is so needed here. I have built and upgraded computers before, so have a rough idea what I'm doing, if given clear instructions, but am not an expert.
Hope someone can help!
