Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my current pc that is roughly 8 years old.
I'm thinking of the following build with a 2.2k budget, built on the pc specialist website
Case: PCS SPECTRUM G ARGB MID TOWER CASE ----- honestly not sure what to get here, I don't care about the looks so I just went with one that has more fans included?
CPU: i7-12700K 3.6ghz (25mb Cache) ---- cpu user benchmarks show better performance for the 12700k compared to the AMD 5900X
Motherboard: Asus TUF z690 PLUS D4 ---- honestly not sure about the differences between the motherboard options? If I want to use a wifi connection should I get the wifi board?
Memory: 32gb Corsair vengeance DDR4 3600Mhz (2x 16gb)
GPU: 12gb RTX 3080
Storage: 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M2 ---- I've read some reviews of issues with the 980 pro and z690 board, but since pcspecialist will build the pc I think I'll be fine?PSU: Corsair 850W RMx 80PLUS gold ---- Reading online I think it's safer to go for an 850W than a 750W?
Processor cooling: Not sure whether to go with the PCS frostflow 240 (250W TDP) or any of the corsair icue ones? I do not care how it looks, just want safe temperatures. Any advice here very much appreciated.
total: 2191£ (with the other standard stuff for wifi/windows license etc)
Note: This pc build is very similar to one of the "same day dispatch" ones, the "Odin R80" - which was on sale but that is no longer the case it seems. However, I think I prefer the 12700k CPU and the 850W PSU. Advice very much appreciated!
I have been thinking about perhaps waiting a month or two with the upcoming CPU releases but it is unclear to me whether this is beneficial given my budget.
Thank you.
