Youre 100% right, i think im gonna buy a 3070 and go that route. glad i came here, you guys saved me a ton of money! and ive gained valuable knowledge :D
Once you have an idea of what monitor you'd like, come back and get some more advice on the PSC configuration you're looking at, because there are some other things about your build that aren't optimal as well (for example you'll want faster speed RAM and 2x8GB is better than 4x4GB)

Make sure it’s an ultrawide and not a standard 1440p, if just 1440p a 3060 would be more suitable, you wouldn’t use the 3070

ok, based on this discussion then my original plan of a 3080 is out as i only have a monitor with a 120Mhz refresh rate (50" 4k). I'll wait for the 3070 as @Wayv is doing

My monitor is a LG TV :) - £500 is a better price for a TV than £1200 for a 4k 120Mhz monitor - sure refresh rate is 10ms not 1 ms but for my MMO's it's great. And i get to watch freeview when i get bored of gaming

A lot of the newer LG and Samsung TV’s are very well set up for high refresh gaming, they even include adaptivesync so they’re very very good.
