Tied between Recoil II (RTX 2060) 17" or Proteus VI (RTX 2070) 15"

Hey everyone i'm looking too replace an old laptop and need a new system that can handle multitasking such as compiling large projects/video encoding and gaming at the same time without significant throttling.

I've heard that the Recoil II thermal performance is pretty good, but considering the Proteus is a bit cheaper and has a superior gpu i'm contemplating this as well but unsure of the thermal performance of this particular model. Anyone have any further details/preference between these 2?

The Recoil has some additional features that the Proteus doesn't, and I think is lighter than the Proteus even despite the larger screen.

However, the Proteus stuffs in a better GPU for the price so, so if the horsepower is more important then the Proteus would seem to win :)

Recoil is lighter but I don't find the Proteus heavy by any means, its roughly the same as my outgoing gaming laptop so I don't notice a difference.

The thermal performance is somewhat hampered by the CPU running hot, but the 8750H is renowned for it. A mild overclock on mine dropped temps from 98 down to 78 whilst improving boost clocks. Having the full 2070 instead of a max-q version is what sold it for me and the price point of the Proteus is great for the bit of kit that you get :)
