Thoughts on this £2000 gaming build?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a high end 1440p gaming PC with a budget of around £2000. This is what I've come up with based on a bit of research but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good call, another £18 gives you the 1000W RMx, I think it's worth going £4 over budget for

Cheers fellas, thanks for the feedback.

Before I make the switch could I just get a brief explanation on the CPU change please? I read elsewhere that the difference between the 5600x and 5800x is negligible purely in gaming terms, which is the only hardware intensive thing the machine will be used for (and therefore the price difference would be better put towards a better GPU according to their logic).

Also, as a general point, is it worth hanging on for the standard 3070/3070 ti to come back in stock (or waiting even longer for the GPU market to normalize) or would you suggest going ahead now with the suggested build?

New consoles are 8 core, so games are likely to be designed for this going forwards. The 3070Ti gives very little benefit of the 3070 for the price difference. GPUs are easier to upgrade than CPUs and you will likely need to change the GPU in the future anyway. For 1440p you could actually drop back to the 3060Ti to save some money. I am not sure anyone can predict when the PC market will get sensible again.
