I’m giving it a miss. Whilst Metro is utter trash, their gaming section is excellent and always trustworthy when it comes to a review.

Don’t know if any of the forum bods out there ever used to read Digitiser on Channel 4 teletext many years ago? It evolved over time into GameCentral and that’s when David Jenkins joined them, he’s an excellent journalist and not afraid to criticise a game when it’s warranted. When teletext finally died GameCentral almost died but found a home on Metro and lives on. Jenks doesn’t write for them as much these days but he’s left solid foundations there.

Think having read that I might clear some space on my games drive.................. cheers @AgentCooper

It's interesting how reviews can vary, most reviews seem to be giving it a 5 or 6 out of 10, the first reviews I saw had it a little higher, and that one gave it a 3. The team have said they're taking feedback on board, so I'm going to be keeping an eye on it.

Having said "keeping an eye on it", I'll probably end up buying it later today out of curiosity!

i picked it up and played till 2am. Quite fun and great in groups (not that I had a group to play with at 2am :D) Don't pick it up on the game pass as the game pass version seems to have some issues

Only done a couple of hours on it, but not had any problems on GamePass version...yet!

Just read up on them, and hadn't noticed them, purely as I didn't have a Steam version to compare it to! Sometimes ignorance is bliss!

Stayed up a little too late and played some this morning too I'm really enjoying this game

7 hours in these are my thoughts. It could do a better job of explaining what everything does especially the stats in the game, it makes it really difficult to determine which armour sets to choose. Weapons are a little more clear but the armour is a mystery to me, I'm playing dress up at the minute basically and wearing what looks cool or what has obviously superior stats.

The game is beautiful to look at and the sound track is phenomenal. The atmosphere and tone set by the game is what Cyberpunk should have been in my opinion.

The combat is fun but fairly basic. The guns feel nice if that's a thing in this type of game but I enjoy trying out the different weapons.

The enemy level scaling and world placement is baffling though, level 5-7 enemies I'm plowing through walk 50 yards forward and I get one shot by a group of level 22's? Yeah that doesn't feel nice

Overall I'm really enjoying it, the story is decent soo far but the main takeaway is the presentation. The game is really well polished but could have used just a little more in the oven to help flesh out stats explanations or work out a better way to deal with over levelled enemies. I'll keep playing either way though

One thing that would be really nice is being able to track multiple missions at once though, having to go into the map and select the missions individually to find out where they are located to try and get them in clusters in certain areas is pretty awkward. Always end up missing one that I have to back track to complete. Yeah I'm a completionist and cant leave a quest behind in an area so it would be nice to see everything that's currently active in a given area, most games have had this for a while now so it's odd to see it's lack of presence

Finished The Ascent after 17 hours of play including all side missions. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it especially later in the game, I would say my takeaway is that I wish I got to the end game combat sooner where I had more abilities and things to play with but I still enjoyed it

Yeah, £22 well spent. The soundtrack being the standout highlight

Any 'end-game' content or literally you have finished the game in 17 hours?

Yeah no end game, it's a story driven game. I tried wandering around and just exploring I've picked up all the cases marked on the map and did every side quest including a couple "hidden" side quests. There's nothing else to do other than grind at that point but there is nothing to grind for
