I never thought I'd receive my RTX 3090 system before XMAS, but DPD have emailed to say the system will be with me tomorrow...

Thanks to the members on this forum, I have a checklist setup for letting the hardware acclimatise to room temperature, checking for condensation etc, windows and nvidia drivers etc. I'll be sticking with Windows Defender and not going with third party apps.

System has arrived and was setup was as expected. I've not had a chance to test the RTX 3090 with Blender, Nuke, World Creator etc and will do so later today.

Two very small issues not related to the computer:

1) I need to order a display port cable as the Iiyama G-Master doesn't ship with one. It has a an HDMI cable and some strange USB thing. The RTX3090 has only one HDMI port and I need that for my existing 27" screen. No big issue as the cable arrives tomorrow and I'm happy running on one screen for now.

2) The mouse in the Logitech MK540 mouse/keyboard combo pack doesn't work and rattles considerably. I've requested an RMA and will wait for PCS to contact me.

The PC is fast - right now I'm waiting for 800GB of VFX projects and assets to be copied from from a removable USB hard drive to one of the 2TB M.2 drives.

I'll post pictures later but in the meantime a) thank you to PCS for getting this box out of the door and B) thank you to all forum members for the advice in out of the box PC setup.

PS Here's the PC spec I ordered and as the for Intel vs AMD debate - my clients have specified Intel and nVidia as part of the VFX workflow. I don't care either way, the CPU is faster than my previous 8 year old PCS box
